I found a new idea for a game that we could play. While using Google Earth, you have the option of being able to veiw streets from ground level.

While doing this, lets see whom can find the rarest car using this proscess.

Here's what I've found:

03 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra.

Porsche 911 Cabriolet, and AM Vanquish in background

Bentley Continental GT's

I think Doug found the MC12 he spotted or something like that, but it wasn't street level.

Nah it was someone else! It was ridiculous; very clearly an MC12. You're right though not street level - it was satellite view on Google Maps. The photo was from a hotel valet in the UK. One of the more interesting sightings in DYSAGT!

I found myself in my yard on streetview. I was talking with my brother and neighbor when the googlecar drove by. I'm immortal on street view now. Too bad they got my address completely wrong..

No interesting cars though.

Cool, this is the no-life version.

Obviously.... I was just saying. The only semi-interesting car on my street is a Z06 but I'm not sure if it was there that day.

It was me, parked outside a hotel in London 👍

I was just glad my lawn was mowed when the Google-mobile drove by my house. My car was in the driveway, too.

this would of been fun if it was set in a certain city each week to see who could find the best looking, fastest, oldest, or most riced car

I drove by a Google Maps plotting car a year ago (dark red Mazda Protege, weird camera unit on the roof, white Google Maps sign on the side), but they still haven't put any of the area on their grid.

Alright, thats cool with me. This could turn out better than I had expected. Great idea! Okay then, lets try it. Sorry, im not the most creative type.:guilty:

Week 1

Find the slowest car in Santa Ana, California.:sly:

Deadline: Sunday 13th, 2008 23:59 PST.

This idea is a fun one. I think it was tried before but got burnt in the furnaces of GTP threadery. Hope this one stays alive longer with the new street view thing!

Indeed it was!

Take a look at what Alex found parked in front of The Dorchester using Google Maps:

OK, so as impressive and extremely rare as it is to EVER find an MC12 out in public from a satellite photo, what really stood out for me was that not only was the MC12 parked between the lines, and not taking up two spaces as many exotic car owners feel they deserve, but the close proximity of the car directly to the right!

I guess they have very careful valets at The Dorchester. :D

However, I wonder how the owner of that MC12 felt seeing his $1.2-1.5 million dollar car parked sooo close to another car.

This reminded me of the lengthy heated debate that occasionally comes up in this thread about whether or not exotic cars deserve to take up two parking spaces.

👍

I drove by the plotting car three times today. Looks like they finally are getting around to the Seattle area. That camera thing is pretty wild though.

I see the plotting car a bunch which is odd because my neighborhood was plotted LONG ago. TONS of cameras on the roof of those things!
