Well, if this doesn't get Atari in gear, then nothing will. EA is at it again, and trying top everyone, and with the so-far, unsatisfaction by some fans of TDU, the first MOOR game, they could be running to EA.

The Island seems like a great idea, and looks like it could be bringing back the old days of NFS (Concept Cars=big NFS2 anyone?). I am pretty much now watching this. If EA can do this right, TDU's so-far mild fame may be struck down as another Online Motor City.

The Island, in short, is a conjuction of games. The Sims meets NFS, and more. Basically, it appears to be a batch of 6 games, 3 that will be released in November. TDU tries to show a life style of fame and fortune with goregous cars. The Island NFS seems to be going after that but with more.

So, anyone else think this could be a good idea? We'll see next month.

Given EA's recent ineptness at doing anything that they have been suffering from since 2003, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it will be a wash.

EA is making it. It's going to be incredibly riced, poor phyisics and generally crap.

The idea of possibly "combining" games, where as you make yourself in the Sims and then can use that created person in the NFS world isn't exactly great either. I don't really find a point to it.

The direction EA is going is toward "Complete user customization" but they just can't get it right. Based on the Carbon demo, their way of doing it is just.. well, a disaster.

Unless they forget the whole customization bit, this is a failure.

If it's MOOR NFS:HP2, or better yet High Stakes, they win.
