EA Sports NASCAR Games

What do you guys remember from the NASCAR games EA produced for the PS2? Close finishes? Hard wrecks? Funny wrecks? Career mode? Which one you owned? What's your rating on the games you owned and on general (like a general rating for all the games they did in their contract with NASCAR or in the games you owned from this series)?
 
Owned almost all of them I think, but my favorite was Thunder 2K4. Loved the career mode, getting sponsors, managing the multiple chassis and engines you own. I don't think there is a more in depth team ownership in any other game.

Also in Total Team Control getting my team 1-2-3-4 every time :lol:
 
I only recently got them as I am collecting NASCAR games, one of the reasons being that I want to play through the season mode in every game and keep track of champions and winners.

The career mode is awesome, though in NASCAR Thunder 2004 I would always qualify last. (:ouch:) NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup was the first one I got, but I hardly made it through the Modified series in career mode. :lol:

One thing that irritated me was how EA Sports kept overrating and underrating several drivers. In NASCAR 2000, I would see someone like Mike Skinner win several races and finish high in the points. In the NASCAR Thunder games, Tony Stewart would rarely, if ever, win a race.

The funniest moment that I've experienced was playing on NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup. One of the Modified races takes place at Martinsville Speedway. If a car spun on the backstretch, every single car on the track would get involved into the wreck which took up the entire track - the only way to get through would be to go through the pit lane. :lol:
 
I have NASCAR 2005 and NASCAR 07 for the PS2, NASCAR Thunder 2004 for the PC, and I've tried NASCAR Thunder 2003, NASCAR 06, and NASCAR 08. My favorite is hands down 2005, there were a lot of changes and they were executed very well. The quality started to go down after 07, though. Still a great series to play if you're a NASCAR fan.
 
I have played every one of them. I haved owned NASCAR 08 twice. Always had close finishes on this one. My favorite was 2005. I now have NASCAR 99 as I loved this game as a kid. I know have Inside line, which isn't EA, but still pretty good. I think 08 was the worst one.
