I'm somewhat surprised by some of these. I understand teh 2005 and maybe even some of teh 2006 titles, but there are a couple of 2007 titles on there and with the way I buy sports titles I would definitely still be using those.

Why the hell are they shutting down Burnout and NFS online service? They are FORCING you to buy all new stuff. Idiots.

Well, NFS Pro Street does appears to be a hell of a game, they want to make sure that they have enough bandwidth and whatnot to ensure a good experience. Plus, the PS2 & Xbox titles are just about outdated now that we have the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Really, are you surprised? I mean, it is EA and since they basically make the same games over and over they have to have some way to make sure you buy the new stuff.

For the XBox titles I can understand as even Microsoft has dropped support for the system. The PS2, on the other hand, still has more users than any of the three next-gen systems. I wonder if they aren't trying to push people next-gen so they can justify only making next-gen games.

I'm not sure, but as the PS3 slowly starts to drop in cost, the PS2 will slowly start to phase out. The biggest (and most obvious) think is that it'll give players a reason to buy new titles.
