In advance I apologize for my ignorance, so please don't make fun of me, but I am asking for some help so I don't offend 'potential' future relatives.

I have company coming over tonight, and my soon-to-be brother in law is East indian, not religious, but he has two nephews that are ( 17, and 19 age ) and I had already planned to good a tenderloin roast on the bbq, BUT they apparently do not eat pork or beef...but they do eat chicken. Can it be cooked on the same grill ? and if so, can it touch the other meat ? (Hindu is their religion )

thanks for you help ! :nervous:

Well I'm east indian, but just eat whatever the hell I want too. But I'm pretty sure you shouldn't let the meats touch.

I'd definately give them a call to know for sure.

See it more as paying respect to their eventual beliefs than ignorance by asking them directly. I do so.

I would call them, but they are on the road to my place and do not have a cell phone, also I just found out about 1-1/2 or 2 hours ago....this is why I am a littled stressed. It is important to my sister in law...which means it important to my wife, which means do not under any circumstance screw it up.

good times i say !

If all else fails, there isn't anything wrong with pan-cooked chicken.

Tough spot you're in, TTJ.

Ouch, that's a bit harder then. !

This is just as I always say: Where are all the hindus when you need them?

I certainly hope they don't mind Tenderloin being served. Many Indians take cows very seriously! But in North America, your chances of them not being extremely devout Hindus is probably better than if this was happening in India.

Best of luck with dinner tonight!

So, what happened?

Hindus certainly don't take beef but can consume pork(though its rare)

they don't eat pork becaus they find it a filthy animal.
They find pigs discusting because pigs eat everything.

Muslims cannot eat pork. Hindus can but rarely.
Their meat mostly consists of mutton/chicken.

So, its done, and my sister in law was full of crap, when I went to pick them up, they were eating bigbacon classic's from Wendy's. So no harm no foul. They came over, had some tenderloins on buns hung out and watched a couple of movies....so its all good.

Yeah, either way it went better than anticipated, so its all good !For his nephews it was their first time in Canada, so that was kind of cool, took them to Niagara Falls ( its like 15 minutes from my house ) played GTA SA, that of course went over realy well ! ; )

Damnit, dude—I've been waiting to go to Niagra Falls all summer! :ouch:

lol, been there three times in the past 4 weeks....I am so sick of the clifton hill area,,,some drunk guy walking on the street ( maybe my age ) stopped infront of my car and gave me the finger and started to point at my wife yelling giberish, I put the damn focus in park, got out of the car, but that bastard ran away before i could catch him...

That was YOU chasing me?

I'm kidding. I havn't been to Niagra Falls in years, I am not a drunk, I am not TTJ's age and I don't know jibberish. But I am faster than a Focus.

Going to Niagra Falls and playing GTA:SA? That's exactly what I did when I had a French foreign exchange student stay at my house earlier this summer. He really enjoyed all of it. Except I did tease him for pronouncing it "nee-agra".
