I just received an invitation card from Speedcity, a new mall in Istanbul where you get to race on life size simulators. The CMS Club (an aftermarket alloy wheel brand here in Turkey which has car mart chains and a club.) sent it to me for my B-Day... Yeeee-haaaaa !! :drool:

I need to give you some info by translation :

You have the life size replicas of

4 F-1 cars
1 Alpha Romeo 156 DTM
1 Seat Cup Car
1 Peugeot 206 WRC
8 Street legal modded cars
1 Fiat Palio Super 1600 Rally Car
1 Fiat Punto Super 1600 Rally Car

I have 20 admissions in my invitation that means I can race on once on all and 3 more on any of choice !!

Hahaaa eat your hearts out guys !! :D

whoa! that would be the only one in the entire planet! the owner of that place must be a king. i cant see the business side of that establishment, i mean look at that place, forget about ROI (return on investment). Its for flaunting. Man, that's really awesome. i wanna go to istanbul.
 
Oohh Boy ! Been there and raced my brains out ! :crazy:

I do not know the software they run but except for the F-1's, all windshields of the cars are screens ! The F-1's have huge LCD screens to them. I suppose they run F-1 2005 and some special software on the other cars.

The cars' complete bodies rock and roll, you feel the rumble strip in the seats of your pants...

I learnt the owner of the place is a media baron; the person who has the most popular motorsports show on air today. I had gotten to know him years ago. Well it made no use to recognise him (or him recognise me) I still was just an ordinary customer...

The Alpha 156 DTM was a blast on the Nürburgring. However it had not much to do with what GT4 has as Nürburgring...

The only downside to it was the movement is 3-d so you get a bit dizzy and neausea, especially when you brake, the seat lurches and tilts forward to give you the sense of negative G and rapid decelaration. The screens are crisp and clear with wonderful hue and saturation. However the graphic quality leaves a bit to be desired.

I talked to one of the guys in charge and he said this is the one and only specialised place in this in the world and they had the plan of bringing a JGTC, an AUDI TT DTM and hold on tight: a Mercedes truck to add into the line !!

I'm there next week !!!

Man I hear ya ! I now will spend my monthly $100 computer related items' budget to build a simulator :

A frame from plywood, a second hand bucket seat and the 80cm TFT-LCD screen from the living room (I don' t have a clue what my wife will react like though... :scared: )

It's gonna take me like 2 to 3 days to build that... I wish I had the knowledge and money to build a complete frame with pneumatic actuators and stuff to build a complete simulator with movement and all... :indiff:
 
I've done somthing similar, except it was for a jet. It was a F-15. It go in and they teach you, and you fly around, and when you flip, you your self go upside down in stuff. My mom and sister were stuck upside down the whole time :lol:

Eh, since I work for an airline, I once had the luck to try a Boeing 757 simulator years ago. I did a fantastic take off and cruise but crashed the plane with all hands on board during landing. :scared:

The simulator instructor told me that he almost thought I joked with him telling him I wasn't a pilot until the fateful moment I forgot to deploy the flaps for approach... :dunce:

I would have hidden this a secret but the weather the instructor punched in into the simulator was fantastic. Clear, beautiful and calm winds... :ouch:
 
Congratulations, bud. But, I highly doubt it compares to the real thing. I got to do the Richard Petty Experience, and even though it was just NASCAR (was paid for by someone else, so I couldn't resist), it was most exciting anyways. :)

Thanks... BTW, I have to do a correction : the cars I read as "street legal modded car" turned out to be stock car racers. Far as I could identify them, two were Chevies, one was Ford and one a Dodge. I cannot say much more cause I may as well was wrong. I was way too excited to pay any notice to details like that...
