Starting to p!ss me off.. BIGTIME....

Has anyone - besides me, noticed, that lately, when searching Google for info, sometimes 6 out of 10 hits are Ebay indexing engines (and the likes).. This time, I'm trying to find some information on a RC servo called "Dymond 7500" - And everything is cluttered up in these friggin' engines asking me if I want to bid on a Radeon 7500 card etc. etc. etc. (heck - adding servo to the search terms, I'm even invited to bid on cars.. Wuhuuuu)

:grumpy:

I suppose it can but they surprizingly do have good deals on there... It IS where I got my brand new MTB wheels for $240 when they originally cost $600. :D:tup:

Yeah, but if I want something on eBay, I'll go to eBay.com and search there, right? These things piss me off too. Is there a specific reason why they exist? Such as, does eBay pay referrers or soething like that?

Google has gone down the crapper in the past year. It's only a shadow of its former self, like Yahoo! and Altavista...

Which brings me to this, is Google still the best one out there?

At the risk of dragging this thread thoroughly off topic, there is a search engine called Mooter which promises to be the next Google. It calls from the land down under, and promises to categorize search results in groups, which you can navigate through, succesively whittling down the possible results. Just like those thought webs you did to write papers in elementary school. It still is in beta version, but I'll put my money that in 5 years it will have taken the place of Google. Try it out. What do you think of this idea?

What I hate more is when I go to a classifieds site like www.MTBR.com and search there for used stuff and they put down that they are selling something and direct you to bid on ebay.

And there will usually be like half a page of "Find (what you searched for at 1234search.com!) and other crap websites.

I still stick with my favorite metasearch engine ixquick for searching. But, I will agree 100% with the ebay crappiness. I hate the new layout even more than the last one. The only upgrade I would condone valuable, would be the personal account info. That's really well setup.
