Ok, so I've tuned my Eclipse GT '95 up with all the top parts (S3 Turbo, Racing Ex, Chip, Racing Intercooler, Racing Brakes) and I'm running on Soft sports tyres for best grip. Troubles is I can't hit full throttle until 4th gear without wheel spin. It's currently at 385BHP, settings are mostly at default -

Tranny - Auto 11
Driving Aids - 0/0/0 (don't really want any AIDs turned on either)
Downforce - 10/20
Spring - 9.6/6.2
Ride - 115/120
Damper - 8/8 & 8/8
Camber - 2.0/1.0
Toe - 0/0
Stabiliser - 4/4

What I would like help with is getting rid of that wheel spin in 2nd and 3rd gears without sacrificing too much power, got cars with much more BHP that don't wheel spin at full throttle in 2nd and 3rd gears so I'm sure it's possible.

and btw, yes, I suck at testing and getting settings right, hence the help request

a good suggestion would be to try and keep FF cars below 300hp. Anything above is endless whellespin and understeering.

Righto, I'll cut a few things off and see what that does then

Alright yeah seems to have done the trick, took it down to 308, still span in 2nd but switched the higher downforce from rear to front and that's actually almost stopped it. Gratzi

Good to see that. I try to keep all my FF cars below 300. At 300+ they'll most likely have too much wheelspin to justify such high hp. As for individual settings, have you checked Duck's settings?

another suggestion is to NOT use turbos.

it adds torque and more torque = more wheelspin.

and since turbos lag it'll be harder to control the throttle properly.

i have a maxed out '83 CR-X and despite only making 215 hp maxed out, it wheelspins the moment i screw up my throttle input.

my '90 CR-X which makes the same power without a turbo is a lot easier to control.

dudejo - Yeah, still have a turbo on it but I've tuned it down to S1, may ditch it and fiddle about with other things if I feel like it.

Diego - Yeah checked, only appears to have settings for the '06 Eclipse GT. Shouldn't be a problem, as I say, seem to have fixed the problem and it's maintained a good speed and acceleration level.

Gracias for the suggestions/advice guys

Have you tried the tranny trick?
Use the search function, it's been covered multiple times in the GT3 forums.
Then add the 1-way Limited Slip.

That should help you some.
Also add some toe-in to your rear wheels. It will enhance your handling quite a bit.

Or........you could add the TCS. I personally hate the aids, but when needed, the TCS stops wheelspin. I know you said no aids settings, but the best advice I can give you is to just set TCS to 1, and practice throttle control.

Have you tried the tranny trick?
Isn't the usual tranny trick make the gear short, in other word, make it spin more?
is it
tranny trick = move final drive slider to the full right, move auto slider to the full left, then ,move final drive to the speed you want ?

or is it
tranny trick = move final drive slider to the full left, move auto slider to the full right, then ,move final drive to the speed you want ?

the last tranny trick should give long gearing (slow).

The tranny trick is the former you described, sucahyo, and it makes the gears tighter, so it'll accelerate a bit faster with having the same top speed. It's good for cars that have R4s and no wheelspin, but with an FF that has it's wheels spinning already, you're asking for trouble doing it.

And if you have a wheel, you should use throttle control solely, since I've noticed that while TCS does it's job in stopping wheelspin, it makes the car a tad slower out of the corner. But if you use a controller, TCS is the way to go.

another method i use to control wheelspin is to make the low gears wider.

and since it gives your car more momentum (low gears aren't usually hard to accelerate through) you can make your high gears more flexible.

I see. same with aranging gear like this then:
