OK, there are hybrids like the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight, and there are two EVs (Tesla Roadster and Mitsubishi iMiEV). I wish there were at least two more: The Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf. You know, there is growing demand for hybrids and EVs because of reducing our oil dependency and saving our environment. So why not go for more eco-friendly vehicles?

Because i think i can speak for the rest of this forum when i say lapping Nurburgring in a Mazda 787b is quite a bit more exiting then seeing how far you can go at 80km per hour before your batteries die.

Because this is primarily a racing game (regardless of how Kaz likes to spin it), and the way the hybrids are modeled in GT5 already makes them largely useless for racing (which, in real life, they would be).

Cars that run out of energy for their secondary engine befoer the race is over are not exactly what I want to see in GT5, to be honest.

Does anybody even drive them more than once. I have 2 untouched Prius in the garage.

Yeah I agree. I am all for saving the environment and getting humanity off of its oil addiction, but the Prius and Inshigt aren't really that exciting from a driving perspective. I haven't tried the new Honda or the Tesla yet, but they I suspect are at least a bit more lively.

Well the main problem with them being in the game is that they are largely useless. I fully modded a prius and you can only take it to 160 HP (it starts with like 101).

Then you get to the all electric cars............ which cannot be modified in any way except tires and weight reduction, so they are also useless.

I mean they are interesting to drive once but after that they are pointless. I would rather have a car such as the Hyundai Genesis Coupe in the game over a leaf or the volt.

I would like to see a new feature where you could destroy a car utterly, drop it off a roof, blow it up, shoot it with a .50 cal machine gun. Then i would buy many prius and teslas and try and come up with interesting ways to kill them.......

Look man, in real life, people drive hybrids because they are good for the environment. That doesn't matter in a video game, so why suffer for the crappy driving experience.

I can only think of one eco-friendly car that we didn't get in GT5 that actually might be fun to drive, and that's the V-12 hydrogen-powered BMW H2R. It can do more than 180 MPH.

It would be nice if the hybrids would charge themselves besides when decelerating.

It's true. Real world needs more eco-friendly vehicles to cut our oil dependency and save our world and all that yadda yadda.

But GT isn't the real world. GT is a fantasy world without fuel bills, death, and NOX emissions. GT is my fantasy world for doing all those exciting and thrilling things I don't do in real life. So take your stupid boring eco econo boxes out of my fantasy world, all they do is depress me. And I play GT to be exhilarated, not depressed:

The only interesting application of hybrid like tech that interests me is KERS in F1, shame theres no KERS at all in the game.

For every eco friendly car they add they have to leave out another car, there are a bunch of completely pointless cars in game that nobody will drive more than once, and a bunch of amazing real world cars that are left out or are only standard.

I don't have any eco friendly cars in my garage for a good reason. I want to go faster than 4 kmh.

The only reason I will be getting them though, is to tick them off my car checklist. All they are good for is a tick.

I'd certainly be interested in seeing more eco friendly/alternative fuel cars in the game. I'm looking forward to trying to take on some endurance races with a Prius and win with economy rather than power :D

The only eco-friendly hybrid I cared to see in GT5 of course didn't make it, the Porsche GT3 R Hybrid.

Well there's a CR-Z, 2 Insights, a Spoon CR-Z, 2 Priuses, an iMiev, and a Tesla. No hybrid race? What gives? I mean that's 8 cars, double it and you get 16. Perfect.

We have too many eco cars in GT5. For every green car they model, they leave out a genuinely fast car. Not a very good tradeoff if you ask me.

(I don't dare reveal the true extremes of my opinions on eco cars here because I'll probably get infracted and laughed at. Plus I have no interest in starting a political debate.)

Ugggg why would anybody be seen even in the passanger seat of one of those POS's?

Lol I just wrote a Whole page on my opinions of the global warming movement but in the end deleted them all as not to get in trouble. Its tough to hold them back though. But it is funny not only are we being told to drive these is the real world now we are being asked to do it in a game that is non polluting nomatter what car we drive.

If you're right, you're right...regardless of who may or may not be offended. When political correctness and the desire to not hurt someone's feelings take precedent over truth, things have gone horribly wrong. Kinda like the whole global warming thing.

So let it out man.

I agree with you, but I can understand Usc's position too. I've had some... surprising experiences with the moderators here (seems there are a lot of banned words you wouldn't really suspect) so I tend to err on the side of caution when posting. Plus I doubt they'd take kindly to a political/religious debate popping up in the GT5 fourm...

Out of all the great cars either not in GT5, or just "standard" models, all you can think about are cars that finish the race with 1/2 the power they started with? really?
Here I thought "racing" meant you wanted to win.
I guess it's a "Sunday cruise" game where birds get oil spilled on them for you?
