Well, I guess I just wanted to give my take on a very good book that even "car guys" can enjoy. I must admit right away, that I am not a reader. It usually takes a lot to get me to read a book from cover to cover, but this book did the trick.
Edelbrock: Made in the USA is basically a biography of the Edelbrock Company. I felt that it is a good book, but it's my opinion, and not everyone will agree. I understand that, but I was compelled by the story of Vic Edelbrock Sr and I wanted to learn more about him and the company.
The book features an introduction by Vic Edelbrock Jr, a foreward by Benny Parsons, and LOTS of beautiful photos of various hot rods, race cars, boats, and more. And throughout the chapters, there are short side-notes such as Edelbrock's affiliation with Smokey Yunik, or other motorsports stories.
I guess the only reason I posted this is so that if there are any of you car guys or gals out there that are looking for something to do in your spare time, this book is a pretty good item. It has great insight into how Vic Edelbrock molded the hot rodding culture into what it has become. And I'm sure it would make a great holiday gift, too.
For more information, pricing, and other reviews, visit Amazon.com's page for the book here. Or the Edelbrock store page here.
