The Edra was a vehicle produced by the Brazilian aeronautic group also known as "Edra". It was a sport compact with a mid-mounted VW engine, its chassis was made of light materials such as kevlar and carbon-fiber while the body was made of reinforced fiberglass.

Two versions of the car were available, the GT with VW 1.8 of 180 HP, and the GT-R with a VW 2.0 turbo and its output of 225 HP. The GT weighed around 850 kilos while the GT-R weighed around 750 kilos. The Edra GT was capable of a 0-100 km/h time of 6.2sec while the GT-R was of 5.2sec. The vehicles had ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid at the rear.

Information about the interior is scarce, but from the only picture available in the internet it's possible to see it was of high quality. Only a few of these cars were produced before Edra gave up on the project.

Nope, this one wasn't made out of any existing car. It wouldn't make sense this car being based on a Beetle since it's from 2003, it would be highly impractical.

I think it looks decent, very light but could use more power.
Well, it packs more power and is lighter than a Lotus Elise of the same year this car made its debut.

Considering it weighs around the same as an Elise, I don't think it needs more power that badly. Regardless, you'd probably be able to buy turbo upgrades anyway.

looks like a ferrari just had a child with an Autozam AZ-1 :D
