Ave anyone ran through an endurance race with an tesla or an hybrid?

Me and my friend were talking the other day and was wondering if it can be done.

Cause with regular cars you have to stop for gas but with electric, doesn't it just regenerates?

Another question, how do you make an backup of your gt 5 files?

Thanks

Except for in the Grand Valley 300, you would lose in any other race with a Prius/CRZ/Insight/Tesla.

Most of the time, as this is a racing game you will drive on the normal tank the electric isn't used (except for in corners) so you can tank normally (driving on electric is almost impossible if you want to win).

The Tesla gets new energy when you're braking, thank god it's to slow for Indy 500...

All these cars are too slow except for GV300, but i think there is a Pescoralo Le Mans car which is a hybrid, i don't know if it works and it actually is a Prius like hybride, but it is fast.

Go to Game Data Utility in the XMB menu then click the triangle on your game save and hit copy.

Thanks mate. It got me thinking about reading different people losing their data or files.

Yeah that backup utility saved me. 5min before my PS3 died I backed up my save.
I would of hate to lose all my progress.

It hasn't been tried yet, but we're pretty sure a CR-Z can win the Nuerburgring 4 Hour race.

Not true. Under acceleration, the hybrid cars use both fuel and electricity (until the battery runs out). Under coasting and braking they use neither, but the battery is recharged as the motor acts as a dynamo. At idle they use fuel but not electricity as the game doesn't model stop-start.

They all do.

No there isn't. It's called the Pescarolo C60 Hybride – Judd Race Car, but the term doesn't refer to a gas/electric hybrid car, rather the chassis.

The pure electric cars - Tesla, iMiEV - will run out of electricity after about 6 racing laps of an ordinary track. Eight if you can lean it out a bit. After that they will trickle round at 50mph - occasionally you may be able to scavenge a bit of energy through regenerative braking but it won't last long. No, they don't refuel in the pits.

The hybrid cars will also run out of electricity after about 6-8 racing laps of a track, but they have a petrol engine to keep them going after that, at reduced power. Again, you'll be able to scavenge a bit of energy through regenerative braking but it won't last long. For something like the Spoon CR-Z which is pretty sprightly on its petrol engine alone, it's not a massive hindrance.

Just to add to this, the Citroen GT Concept has the worst battery life of any car that I am aware of, after 12/13 minutes it is empty, it won't even manage 2 laps of the Nurburgring

it is a hybrid, but its not like a prius, you dont get a battery gauge. It is just like a normal car.

edit: oops read the reference page wrong, the hybrid is in the chassis, not the motor
