Hello Everyone,

I am currently working on the Elise trophy races on pro with the motor sport elise. Its a 10 lap race and nobody pits in. Because of this I am using T2 tires that really are crap for cornering. I used this setting and i need something that will give an advantage over the other cars. Or maybe i need to change my setting to give me better acceleration. Or maybe i need to change my car to the elise 190. I have no clue. Any ideas for what i should do or maybe u could just tell me how u guys won? Thanksthis setting :banghead: :banghead: :irked: :trouble: :dunce:

A fully modded Elise 190 should accomplish this task easy enough, And the MS Elise should manage with only a few minor upgrades.

About those settings, I'd say back the toe down to 0/0 and change the Camber to 3.0/1.5.

SO what problems are you having on cornering? Washing out exiting the corner, or the car understeering into the corner?

Let us know a bit more and we can help fill you in.

The cornering isnt too bad but im looking for something that would maybe boost the accel. a little bit. ive got all the upgrades so im not sure what else i can do.

Go to the tranny settings and slide the "sports-wide" slider to a lower number. If it's on 25 back it down to 23.
Then Qualify to make sure you have enough oomph to hang in on the long straights.

With the T2's on your acceleration is going to suffer a bit, have you tried different tyre combinations? also a closer ratioed 'box would certainly help

i use the T2's so i dont need to pit in for the whole race. Im on the 3rd race in the series. Which ones did u find were the hardest to beat??

maybe using a softer combo. of tyres may help, get a decent lead and pit, say half way, and if you are still in front then good or if not you should be able to chase the AI down as thier tyres degrade
As its been ages, what are the races in the Championship?

Also turn the TCS to 1 and the ASM to 0.
That'll get you a better launch and some benefits for acceleration. It'll also make the car easier to turn.

With the Elise, Both the normal and the MS, Smoothness is the key.
You will note that when you are smooth it doesn't seem like your going all that fast, but you should achieve lower lap times.
Your goal is to have no smoke coming off the tires when turning or braking.
If you can handle the track at 9/10s speed the whole way 'round you'll be much quicker than if you run up to 10/10s then stop and have to accelerate up to 10/10s again.

Hi, P001.

I used a brand new MS Elise with T3s in front and T4s in back, race suspension, race intake/exhaust, turbo 1, chip, and race LSD. No weight reduction and it was making 279 hp.

Typically I didn't qualify or pit. I posted the following victories:

Trial Mountain: +18.398" (fast lap 1':30.440")
Rome: +0.657" (fast lap 1':30.507")
Monaco: +5.095" (fast lap 1':42.470")
Deep Forest: +4.913" (fast lap 1':17.982")
Apricot Hill: +1.081" (fast lap 1':26.648")

I used the MSE because I knew I would win a 190.

If your front tires are shot you might want to try slightly softer ones on the rear. I normally don't do this - on most cars it only makes bad handling worse - but on the Elise it works. Try T2s/T3s. I did make it with no pitting on T3s/T4s. If your tires are going south, really try to be smoother with your braking and steering inputs. This car is so light that it doesn't respond well to a heavy hand on the controls.

Good luck!

yeah this cup is a little bit more difficult then most but its do-able.. i remember doing this cup last summer and i only had one problem with it and that was deep forest, i had to do this race 3 times becuase i kept spinning out on the first corner like 9 laps into the race. pretty ironic but it happens.

Another tip, try to avoid touching the kerbs in an Elise, the little fella is so light that the kerbs will launch you skywards and as we well know, no tyres on the ground = no steering!!! :dopey:

By the way, how come in my version of GT3 the gear ratio numbers are different to yours? Is it a difference regarding PAL and NTSC?

For example, someone suggests for a particular car the gear ratios, 1.4, 1.2 and 0.96 for 4th 5th and 6th on their car yet if i were to buy a racing transmission for that car and try it, the lowest 6th would go is 1.2, lowest 5th is 1.5, lowest 4th is 1.7.

What is going on??

EDIT: Time: 13.27.343 MOV 5.846 for Deep forest raceway, on my fifth attempt.
EDIT: Time: 15.24.38 26.232 MOV for Trial Mountain on second attempt.

I skipped rome because it was annoying me, but I won the championship with 40 points anyway. Rest assured I'll come back to that race when I have time.

The individual gear ranges vary according to where you have the final drive and the autoset placed. Plus, you can edit gears individually if you wish.

Glad to see you got through the Cup!

I am aware of that, but the fact that puzzles me is that if i follow the setup creator's exact commands, even if he specifies final drive and auto set, I still cannot move the Individual gears as low as the number he says.
