I am trying to win the Elise Trophy in the Professional League. I bought the Lotus Motor Sport Elise and purchased all parts available and still cannot win the series. This car is just really hard to handle for some reason and I keep spinning out. I just have the Polyphony, GT World, and the Formula GT series to go before I finish the Professional League and all the Simulation races. Anyone has any tips?

I beat it with the regular Elise but ooohhh myy god did it take concentration. My advice is to relax and put all your brain cells into your driving with no distractions. And DONT tryn' get 1st place on the first lap... your tires will be ass cold and you'll spin/hit a wall for sure, just stay with them. Might not sound like much help but consistancy wins races.

beating this series with a normal elise with all mods and parts isn't that hard. The advice above is good. The Elise is one of my favorite cars in the game but it does take alot of time to get used to, it has avery loose backend and curbs really loosen it up, due to is being oh so lite-weight. Stick to it, the car is gret fun to drive, you just need to get used to it's handling.

If you really want to do the seires easily go for the Elise race car with full mods. That will make it a no brainer.

A few notes about the Elise. It's very light, and the rumble strips will wreak havoc on your lines. With the amount of power you've loaded on it, it's very touchy.

Post up the current suspension and LSD settings. We'll give you a few pointers on what might improve the cars ability to stick to the road. ALso keep in mind that you'll need zero ASM. You'll likely need TCS = 2 or 3.

Also relax a bit and remember that you only need to win by a few seconds.

IT's a tough one, but it can be done. Here's how I did it. What also might help is reading a bit of my compendium as you progress through the final bits and pieces.

Good luck,

AO

The Elise race car???? You mean the Motor sports Elise, the one he has. You need to be careful not to hit the curb too many times, it really messes the cars stability up. Also be sure you don't floor it too early out of slow corners. Turn the ASM to 0 if you haven't already and set the TCS to 2 or 3, that wil also help keep the car facing the right way, the rest of the setting are personal preferrence, I drive mine like a go-kart, very flat but very twitchy so my settings won't help you.

Edit: Boom's beat to it, with links too.

Ya I just got that, he said the Motor Sports Elise. Well then I can offer no help. It should be a no brainer with that one. I was thinking about the Elise 190 which makes it a bit of a challenge but alot more fun. I'll just shut up now.

The Motor Sport Elise is VERY VERY difficult to control for me... Speed Six too...
This made me not able to win Elise Trophy and Tuscan Challenge...

I just think FGT and Polyphony Cup is much more easier...

Thanks for the advice. I just have to keep working at it I guess. Just like getting the super license.

Thanks for the response. I guess I just need to practice more.

Gonzogt3,
The Elise 190 is easier to drive than the motorsport version.
I used the both to win the Pro Elise Challange.
Set the suspension as soft as possible on the Motorsport version, It helped to make the car less twitchy for me. Also use only a little bit of steering input at the start of the corner and then just steer the car on the throttle for the rest of the corner. And stay off the curbs.
When you get used to them the Elise is one of the most fun cars to drive.

Gonzo, in addition to staying off the rumble strips and TCS of 2-3, keep the suspension soft (default is too soft?) for a bit more grip, use a bit higher gears in the hairpins. It's still pretty easy to slip and slide, so watch the throttle.

Cheers,

I just read this thread and thought I'd try this out, never driven an elise before... but boy it's a great car to drive.

Bought the motorsport elise, tuned it up to the max 336 HP, it's an absolute pleasure to drive. The only problem is that I could only afford semi-racing transmission, and as a result the top speed won't go past 195 kph or so, but that's ok. I'm racing at Monaco, so it's not a huge problem. Currently leading by about 40 seconds after 5 laps.

Which one of the elises is supposed to be difficult? I got the motorsport one for 100000, didn't make any setup changes except to set ASM and TC to 0, and I got pole by 9 seconds. Maybe if you find it difficult it's because there is a lot of oversteer? The back end slides a lot... which is fine if that's what floats your boat, but if not... Try to be as smooth as possible on the throttle, and be prepared to use some countersteering.

I did the same thing with the 190 and just finished the series. Monaco is an easy win. It is a slippery car and I had a much tougher time with these races, the first time through the game. Unfortunately, I won the same car I drove.

Cheers,

I thought I'd try the Elise 190, bought most stuff except I ended up running out of money and couldn't afford anything higher than sports transmission and semi-racing suspension. On a track like Deep Forest sports trans will do the job anyway.

I never bother fiddling with setup except to turn all driver aids off, so it was straight into a race at Deep Forest, my favourite track. Got pole position by 4.4 seconds with a 1:15.0 using medium-soft tyres. Ran to lap 5, pitted, and rejoined still in the lead, just. Began to pull away at 4 seconds / lap again, until I spun at the last corner on lap 8, and nearly lost the whole thing.

Trying to beat my fastest lap, and get a lap in the 1:13s, I just used too much kerb, lost the back end, and slid sideways at 90 degrees to the track, straight towards the pitlane, frantically changing down, wheels all locked and I was thinking crap crap this thing is gonna make me pit again, but just in time I grabbed reverse and pulled the car out of the way. Resumed just in the lead and won by 4 seconds, what a race!

Thanks all for the responses. I finally got all gold but didn't beat the series. That's okay because the prize car isn't that good. Deep Forest and Rome Curcuit II were the hardest because the cars didn't pit. I had to race with slick tires. Must have done Deep Forest about twenty times. On to my final, Formula GT.
