Alright people, here is the first challenge. My current record is:

1'18.866

This is on Laguna Seca, using the Nismo Skyline GTR-R34, at 657bhp.

I know that there are some serious GT player up here, so I'm awaiting for my record to be broken. Good luck, people!! BTW, good luck at MLG also!! Kick ass.

Folks, for those who haven't followed the thread linked above, it's an interesting discussion concerning the state of the Sim Racing community in New York.

Shen Yin is offering up this challenge to spark some interest in his region, and I think as OLR regulars, we should jump into this...

I'll be running some attempts later. 👍

I'm not overly fond of the R34 (or any Skyline, for that matter) but I have to admit, that was a pretty fun drive... 👍

What are the upgrades to get it to 657 HP? With or without oil change? Tires? Weight reduction? Suspension mods? Brakes? Transmission mods?

EDIT: Nevermind, I read the original thread where this challenge was discussed. So I guess its 657 HP max, and upgrade everything else to max?
 
That's a fair point. I've not read the thread, but I went for:

All modifications except:
T2 turbo only.
No Intercooler upgrade.
No oil change.

That got me 657hp. I'm sure that if you scratched port polish and displacement upgrades, but went for the oil instead, that'd put you at the same power.

👍 Thanks Famine, that's going to save me alot of time. I'm still a newb when it comes to this stuff... very little experience :dunce:
 
I went for all the goodies to get the car to 657 hp, including oil, PP, Balance, Carbon DS, and Weight reduction 3, with T8 tires (Super Soft). There was a turbo upgrade added on there too, but I don't remember which one, and I didn't save the car (oops).

My best lap was 1:16.031 (20.028/37.172/55.936).

Like NQ, I normally stay away from all Skylines, but this one was pretty fun! 👍 NTSC X-port replay available if wanted. :)
 
I figured I could get another 0.5s off, due to some scratty second sector antics, so a possible 15.x for someone else.

Dam man, you guys are flying wiht these cars, im trying my ass off here and still 2-3 secs off! =(
 
Hehe...don't feel too bad. Pokey and Famine are two of the true "GT3 Creatures" when it comes to hot lappin' :bowdown:

As for me, I spend way too much time at Laguna ;)
