Ending Movie: Not the end

I reached the ending movie quite some times ago and just recently finished all of the remaining "unlocked" events effectively putting me at 100% (99% until the RB unlocks)...

As I watched my son complete Sonic Generations today and watch the final movie it made me remember how I feel a little cheated by seeing the ending movie for GT6 while I was only about half way through. I think it's kind of a neat sense of accomplishment watching the ending movie once you've actually completed the game.

It's been like this in past games I know but why?

Am I the only one kind of miffed about this? I know it doesn't really matter but I'm old school... you shouldn't get it until you're actually done.
 
The casual gamer probably only ever makes it half way through a GT game. Even for me the best I've been able to do is GT4 - (92.5%), GT5 - (95%)
 
Perhaps the ending movie is just a placeholder :sly: But more seriously I agree with the opening post, it's kind of weird watching the end movie when you've only done about 30% of the game as I did - (I unlocked the various levels as soon as they were available)
