Endurance Autopilot Glitch

Well, autopilot is still going, despite having rear tires down to nothing, fronts down to 25% left. Gas tank is down to 1/3 of a tank. We'll see what happens, but if the AI won't pit, this glitch may only be useful to finish out the last hour or so of a race.

Made my car drive itself in Aspec endurance race. I'll post another video here showing how I did it once the race ends, but it involves making the AI take over when you go toward the pits but missing the pits. Heres the video proof and description:

This seems very much like the B-spec option in GT4 endurance races where you can switch from A-spec (you're doing the driving) to B-spec. I don't know if that option is still available in GT5 but I heard that B-spec in now completely different mode and you can combined the two specs together. If that was true, this is either code that was left over from GT4, or at some point in GT5 development, PD decided to keep B-spec in its own mode.

Personally, I love the option of being able to switch to B-spec in GT4 especially for 4/6/12/24 hour races. In real life, no one does a 24 hour race on their own- it's 3 drivers/car at Le Mans and Spa and 4 at Nurburgring. This video shows that the code is still intact and PD could add the option at any point if they want.
 
I agree its definately A-Spec mode from the screen layout. Are you sure you didn't have a friend driving using a different controller ?
 
didn't they say that you were supposed to be able to switch between a-spec and b-spec for endurance races before the game came out?
 
It's legit. I haven't done this in an endurance race, but I have done it online several times, which is annoying because people think you're controlling the car whilst it's driving back and forth across the main straight. I've never been pushed away from the pits like this video, but I can well see that it'd happen. Tsukuba is the only track that I think this is possible on, no others have pit lanes like it.
