Hi,

I'm thinking of doing a local (via online still I guess?) multiplayer endurance race one day. Something like 4-12 hours, but I really have no idea beyond that yet.

I was wondering though, with Nürburgring and Le Mans, if I understand things right, they do change from day to night? Does either of them also have changing weather?

Finally if you do a certain number of hours, for example 12 hours, does it compress the 24 hour day/night/day transition into 12 hours?

Thanks!!

Hello,

Both the Nurburgring and Circuit De La Sarthe (Le Mans) have night/day transition and dynamic weather.

As for the night/day/night transition, when you adjust the track settings the "time progression" can be adjusted from 1:1 (1 minute in reality = 1 minute in game) to 1:60 (1 minute in reality = 60 minutes in game) Adjusting this will allow you to get the day/night transition you're after. EG: Set the starting time to 12:00, time progression to 2 and race for 6 hours, you will finish the race at 12:00 the next day.

Also, under track settings, you are able to adjust the "weather changeability" from 0 to 10. 10 being very lightly to change, 0 being not changing what so ever.

You're welcome!!

Nice idea mate, you should check out the wurks.ca 24hr of Nurburgring that was ran recently. Link, Link, Link and link

By reading through those threads you'll find a lot of tips to making yours work. It's going to take a lot of organizing though...

Thanks!! Those options sound like a dream come true :)

I'll study those threads carefully too :) Just over 10 years ago I did a 24 hour race in "Le Mans 24" on the Sega Dreamcast. Good times. Rained for the entire race though, haha, doh! But back then I dreamed of doing it multiplayer, and it seems now I can finally do just that :) Only not a full 24 hours this time, haha.

Have done a few online endurance races (2-5 hours) with some friends... Works like a charm. :)

If you're doing a really long endurance race, make sure you have a rock-solid internet connection (and local lan connection).

I think I'll have everyone here like a LAN party. Can you do LAN racing on GT5 instead of internet based? It just seems like that would be more reliable.
