Do these rebuilds do anything at all?
If so, when is it necessary to do them?
I performed both of them on a car and I honestly can't tell any difference, and B-Spec Bob turns the exact same lap times as he did before the rebuilds.
I have another car which is my grinder for cash.
I have done over 60 races at Indy with it.
I change the oil every 5 races.
It has the same HP, after an oil change, as it did when it was new.
It feels as good to me as the day I bought it.
Bob still runs the exact same times as he always did in it.
It has been eligible for the engine and chassis rebuilds since the time I finished my 10th race.
What possible reason do I have to spend 1 Million credits on these rebuilds?

I don't think it makes much of a difference. I think a guy did a full test and his lap times were barely better.

If your times are still the same then don't do a rebuild. I say do one when your times start getting worse. Just keep doing oil changes like you are right now.

my 787B, with about 7000 kilmoters in it, now shows power decrease that can't be recovered with just an oil change. and i suspect it now needs an engine rebuild to bring it back to tip-top shape. but it's not that much tho (less than 10HP) so i'll defer the engine rebuild for another time.
