Ok, I have seen many people talk about breaking in their cars like you would in real life with frequent oil changes and soft driving.... the whole bit.

Does it really effect the long term performance of the cars?

Lastly, what is your best version of a break-in procedure?!

No it does not really matter, at most do 300 km and change the oil!

Breaking in is breaking in no matter how you do it, all that matters is getting 300 kilometres on the clock 👍
 
From what I've read on here.

0 miles change oil, drive for 300 miles, change oil again, done.

Cars purchased with xxx.xxx miles, change oil, done.

Actually, I did have to drive over 300 miles to break in my R35 Black Edition.

You don't have to change the oil, before you've reached 300 kilometre. Doing it makes no harm, along with making the car faster.
 
I assume breaking in car is really only useful for online racing? For pp limited races, doesnt seem useful and aspec not needed.
 
Does rebuilding engines make a difference?
 
As if this hasn't been discussed enough already - simple use of the search function will yield enough results to get the answers that you seek.

So if I buy/win a new car, change the oil, drive 300km and do an oil change I will have TWO power increases?! I thought it was a power increase/300km?

Also, does this power gain apply forever or are there limits on how many oil changes make you PP gains?

The oil change on a new car boosts engine power, break-in period boosts engine power. The power decreases as the oil breaks down to a set limit.
The engine will permanently lose power over a period of a few thousand miles or so, thus requiring a rebuild. After a greater number of miles, even a rebuild won't restore power to original break-in spec. That's where the Car Restoration Ticket comes in.

Sweet, thanks! Guess what I'm doing with my new cars atm :D And I didn't even know about the Restoration Ticket, as it's not in GT Auto. You're a beast!👍

So I will know when to use it when an oil change + engine rebuild won't gain me the normal ~5% power increase? Also any way to tell how many miles you've driven since buying a car (UCD cars)?
