Engine sounds in car commercials

I see more and more car commercials where they have normal cars yet it sounds like it's has a flowmaster sound or muscle car sound to it. Why do car companies think they are getting away with something or do they think we are stupid?

In "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", Bond's Aston Martin DBS manages to squeal it's tyres as it pulls off. On a beach.
 
I hate it when I hear the same sound effect of a guy screaming over and over in different movies.
 
There's one stock sound effect which gets right on my tits. It's a squeaky/rusty gate opening. I've heard the same stock effect in at least 30 different films, and the X-Files TV series too.
 
That generic "videogame" sound with all the 'boops' and 'beeps' that is played when the character(s) play even modern systems like PS2, Xbox, etc.

I hate it.
 
i've seen commercials with cars in it where they've ripped the car sound files from GTA3.

The General Lee in the Dukes of Hazzard routinely squealed it's tires, on dirt roads.
 
One of the most popular screams is the eeeeeyhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, or the "knife up the butt" yell.

yea thats what came to my mind too. It was in the theme song for " Ahh Real Monsters" and in a few other things too.
