enhanced tire wear gauge

Looking at this pic it appears as if the tire wear gauge has been enhanced to show other car settings:

I wonder if that's fuel and oil gauges.

I think that's just for the Prius hybrid, it shows the battery level and such things.

It does appear to be the Prius though.

It is from the hybrid Prius. It shows battery level and if it is charged or decharged and how the gas and electric engine runs or notzzz.

Thats on every in game screen, it has'nt done anything yet but does indicate that fuel consumption will be a factor in GT4.

Look, I understand that it's a neat car. Hybrids are a neat gadget. But, they don't belong in a racing game.

Oh, and notice the two numbers near the bottom right. It looks like speed and - gasp - fuel mileage. KM/L? Might just be another Prius thing.

There is actually an FIA Group N Toyota Prius rally car. It competed in a gruelling 5000 kilometer rally race that extended 3-days. I think the race was called The Midnight Sun to the Red Sea Rally, or something like that. It has 71bhp from it's 1.5 litre, four cylinder, and the electric motor puts out about 44bhp at the same speed. The car actually finished the race in 14th place, overall! The race had a fairly large feild, and even though there were many DNF's, there was still enough competition for the Prius to get recongnition, for it's finish. The car is totally built with a full rollcage, a safety tank, and a fully adjustable suspension set-up. This goes to show that just about any car can be raced.

What I'm seeing from left to right / top to bottom in the first picture ...

She sucks because she is in 6th place.
On a cool new track that I haven't seen.
The front tires are getting power from gas and electric.
The battery is roughly 6/8 full.
She has no tire damage ... no apparent meter.
There is no indication for gear or shift light in the empty circle (?).
She's doing 56km/h.
No hazards (?).
The fuel light is not on (???).
And she's getting 32 km/l (??).

Anyone else see something different?

OK it looks like every time you drive a Prius you get that funky display in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Is the Pod electric? Do you get that gauge in GT Concept?

No, the POD is not electric, but the dualnote in GTC has a meter for huw much power there is in the battery for the electric engine

Yep, it just might be the new "tunning" features we heard Yamauchi-san say. If you didn't catch that interview, here is a part that might explain the other wear gauges we see in this pic.

"The modification portion of GT4 offers a lot more variety than GT3. For example, one's car chassis stability will increase or decrease."

This probably means the suspension parts now wear out, and need to be replaced like engine oil.

In GT Concept they had that Honda hybrid concept car that had a slightly different display, to illustrate when you were running with boost from the batteries, which would recharge when you were braking.

Yeah, that's kind of what they're saying.

But the stuff on the right ... is that number on the far right followed by "km/l" being kilometers per liter? That would mean to me that there is an amount of fuel to be concerned with.
