Err.. Lost Password thingy.

okay, my stupid cousin (which username on here is BoSS..feel free to make fun of him) doesn't remember his password for this board. I put in one of my email addresses when he registered because he didn't have one yet, so I put in the lost password recovery thing paradoxediction@yahoo.com and said okay, I'll get the reset password crap in my email. that was on Saturday.. and now it's Wednesday and I still haven't gotten the email.. and no it's not in a Bulk email folder. When I go to his username on this board and click send email, it sends it to my paradoxediction@yahoo.com, well last time it was some retarded error from the GTPlanet server but it still had the message I filled out in the email form. so now I'm wondering what is up with this? help me pleaseeee :( :mad:
 
I just sent your password to you from the AdminCP, maybe it made it this time. Let me know.
 
Well to add to the subject of emails that are late. I registered to another username yesterday(not Jode) and I still haven't gotten my activation email. It's been a day.

:mad: Nope, still haven't got any mail from GTPlanet... or anyone else for that matter today. :(
 
I've run into this before. Can you try switching your e-mail to a hotmail account and see if hte activation comes through.

I had this problem with my deralta.net e-mail and it seems that GTPlanet.net server fires off the e-mail and it vanishes between the two servers. My server never saw one come in, and GTP's server saw it go out. Just simply vanished.

Take taht first step, and it'll let us kow if AOL is catching it or if it's simply not getting through.

Well mine is yahoo, and well lol I can't really do that cuz if I knew the password, I wouldn't need to be clicking the Lost Password Recovery link. But if you weren't talking to me, just ignore this post ha. Still no email yet.
 
Ahhh... Sorry. Early morning confusion. I was thinking it was the activation e-mail that you weren't getting.

My apologies. If its the lost password function, that's going to land under Jordan's duties.

There could be problems with our email system...I'll check it out.
 
Nope, our email system is working fine. Epic and WhiteCharisma, try this test out. Click on the
email.gif
button below one of your posts (epic, you'll need to enable the "Hide Email Address" option to see this button), and send yourself a simple test email. Let me know if you get the test email or not. This way we'll be able to determine for certain if the problem is with the server or with your email's filters.
 
Hmmm.. okay that worked Jordan. But now I'm wondering if because I think that epic and BoSS have the same email account somehow. Would that cause any conflict when I give the paradoxediction@yahoo.com email address to the Lost Password Recovery form? Oh well, if it never comes for the username BoSS, I'll just have him register a new one unless you can figure it out. Thanks for the help. :D

Duplicate email addresses aren't allowed. paraddoxediction@yahoo.com is the address registered for epic. danny_33012@yahoo.com is the address registered for BoSS.
 
ahhh rats I coulda swore I used paradoxediction, wow.. thank you Jordan.. now let's see if this account is still active or not eek. 👍

OK, I changed it to the first tokyo.com address.
 
Epic, are you waiting for an email at the new tokyo.com address? You won't receive any type of confirmation email since I changed the address myself...to make sure you're really receiving mail there send another test email to that account.

WhiteCharisma, if you can't find some way to change your AOL email filters, then I'm afraid you won't be able to get any email from GTPlanet unless you change to a new address.
 
Okay, I'll try that send email to that username, before I put in that address in the lost password form but it never came. I'm going to try what you said right now.
