I normally never go in the Computer threads unless I really need help. I'm currently using a different computer since mine keeps showing "Error 691" which says that "Computer cannot establish a connection, or check password" something like that, I don't remember exactly. I know that non of those could be the problem since I always have used the same computer and I have never messed around with the internet passwords.

Before the problem happed, my computer discovered a virus "Trojan Downloader" in a .cpy file [15 in total], and cannot be deleted from my computer. I tried to delete them in safe mode, and DOS mode but connot delete or change. It says that the file is using them. Then I tried to get logged, which saves every file executed when my computer boots and saves it to a .txt file, and the .cpy file did not show up.

After that, my computer doesn't recognize the password anymore. What could be the problem. I have WINDOWS ME. Any help, I will apreciate (?spelling?), thank you.

When Windows cannot establish a dial-up Internet connection, it gives a 691 error. So, whatever trojan, virus, or spyware application installed on your system is trying to establish a connection, but it fails (doesn't have correct password, etc.).

What you will need to do is format your hard drive and reinstall Windows, preferably with Windows XP or 2000, not ME.

I suggest that you purchase a firewall and maintain updated virus and spyware detection software in the future, because viruses don't appear on your system all by themselves.
