I'm getting the error code above when I try to load GT5. The message says that there is insufficient hard drive space. Please quit the game and free up some space.

The thing is I have 160gb of free space. I deleted some stuff anyway just in case. I've also tried restarting the ps3 several times, cleaning the disc etc..

I tried loading the game on my 2nd account and it works just fine.

Somebody please help me urgently. I'm starting to panic now because I'm worried I may lose over a years worth of game save data. I'm level 40 A & B spec, have over 850 cars and a whole load of other achievements in the game.:scared:

Haven't had this happen to me, but do a search. I've definitely read about this on the forum before.

It could be the "save game file too large error" which i think had been fixed

Thanks mate. I'm currently getting some help on the GT5 official forum. The guy thinks there might be a corrupted file that is causing the problem. He told me to go to "game data utilities" and delete the GT5 data (this doesn't affect your game save data) then reinsert the disc and download all the updates again. It's time consuming because the first update is 2.01 which is 608 mb and there'll probably be more to install after that so it's gonna take a while on my lousy 3mb connection but, anything is better than losing a years worth of game progress!!

I'm not out of the woods yet though, there are no guarantees that this is going to work.

I'll post here later when I know how it's gone. It might be helpful for other people if it ever happens to them

Hey Peeps, I've lost ALL my GT5 saved data. Over a year's work on the game. I feel like crying. The ps3 froze while saving and so the saved data got corrupted, when I restarted the ps3 is when I received the error code. I am starting from scratch now on my 2nd account "hoolidaz".

My advice to anyone reading this is, buy a USB memory stick and back-up your GT5 game save data at least once a week. That way worse case scenario is that you would lose a week's game progress not a year like this fool did.

Totally agree with this. I've had my GT5 data corrupted a few times, but, thanks to my USB Stick, things were fine. Except for the time I forgot to refresh the save data, and was left with save data that didn't include my recently achieved 1000 ticket; so I lost out in a lot of trades. I Do it frequently ever since that (not serious) mistake.

Yep, everyone should do this now PS3 have USB ports, is also very useful for when you receive a '67 birthday ticket and open it to find a Honda N360.
