This is a very interesting looking car. It only weighs 800kg and has 981hp before an oil change, and the wing on this thing is a monstrosity. Does it handle well on normal tracks? It's about 2,000,000 cr. and I'm just wondering if I should get it.

In my UCD right now...

Oh my, just read the description for this car about the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. I just moved here and only live about an hour from that. Will have to check it out!!

The Escudo in past games was incredible. As you've said, it's a hill-climbing car - making it ideal for both rallying and racing. Its acceleration is also excellent - great for short races on short circuits. It's not the best car anymore like it was in GT2 and GT3 (for the most part), but it's still an excellent choice I think.

Its not a bad car really. Ive got mine at 1040 hp at the moment, and it handles really nice, definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Think I'll get it. How is it on Nordschleife? If anything, I've never seen anyone driving it online. Might get some lookers, lol.

Definitely buy it, its a lot of fun on the Nordschleife. Easily does sub 6 minute laps with only an oil change after buying it from the used dealer.

I got it for my 100 times on the track ticket, I remember in GT3 you could get this monster to 1800bhp. However, thats no longer the case :/

I just picked it up in the UCD yesterday, i think for 1,998,000 cr.

havnt used it yet, it was one of those cars that you simply have to buy because one day you will want it.

I though that this car was useless in GT4, well as far as cornerering went anyway. Luckily it was nearly as fast as light, so it more than made up for it on the straights

I have yet to see it in my UCD. Level 29 A-spec

I don't think level has anything to do with it, nor does it mean you've played the game a lot(number of loading screens). By just doing 3 weeks of seasonal events you should be at level 27 or 28.

Bought the Escudo as soon as it came up in the UCD. Good job I had enough money for it at the time, because I haven't seen it appear again in the UCD for almost 3 weeks. My garage just wouldn't be complete without it.

I really fancy one of those Escudo's but its just not popping in the UCD. It would indeed be fun to see what it can do around the ring.:sly:

I miss the 1400bhp it could be brought upto in GT4 and the use of Nitrous to kill the lag abit.

It's very amusing to turn up at rally events online though and wait until the last minute to join the track so nobody realises there's an Escudo in the race until it's beside them on the start line :D

Bloody dificult car to drive at the best of times on rally stages though.

I tried running my at Indy for Dream Car B-spec... alas it required babysitting, so it's back to the X1 for that. I'll drive it later when I get a chance.

I've got one of these monsters in my UCD at the moment. However, I've logged off and am in work all night. I'm not sure how the UCD works. If I log on tomorrow morning will it still be there or will the list have changed? Also, does anyone know if the Escudo can be used in GT Rally Advanced? If it's still there tomorrow I'll get it. It looks insane!

Every day in GT5 = 6 new cars. Every race/licenses/etc = 1 day. So it'll be there unless you did a few races after that.
And i doubt you can use it for those Rally races, there's 4xx HP limit and Escudo has 980.

I loved that thing in GT2 and GT3, so i've got it in GT5, but sadly, there's no much use for it. It can't be used in rally, it's not that fast on ovals, it's can't beat veyron at drag racing even after HP upgrade.

Thanks TJ. I took the plunge and bought the Escudo. I had to install the mid range turbo to compensate for the lag and fitted the rigidity bars. Racing Softs were a must too. What a beast of a car tho! It flew around Deep Forest Raceway so bearing in mind the absurd power to weight ratio I tried it out in Like The Wind and came a very close second place on Indy. If its aerodynamics were lower profile it would've been an easy win but it got blasted after pulling out of the draft zone behind other cars. Still a great machine and highly recommended for those lucky enough to get it in their UCD.
