Alright so i bought the Suzuki Escudo today expecting it to be an amazing car (as in games past especially GT2 old but still) Im only getting 190 out of it at the most. Is there any tunes out there someone could give me to help me with it. I was hoping tht itd be a GT-ONE competitor but my GT-ONE could kill it right now

It's a dirt car, and it accelerates crazy fast though too

190!?!
mine goes to 210, it was around 195 stock i believe
btw this isint the same escudo from gt3 and gt2 its the lower hp version...
hence the name road car...

See the big wing the Escudo has?

It creates so much drag that it acts as a big parachute, preventing the car to go faster.

It doesn't say Road Car it says exactly "Suzuki ESCUDO Dirt Trial Car '98" Which is the same as GT2. It also has the same hp. But its been 10 years since GT2.

A lot in the physics has changed by now, but the escudo is very fast IF used properly. the top speed is much slower than LMP cars so I recommend it on smaller tracks or tracks with short straights. Keeping the gearing tight also helps, but there's no way it'll keep up with the gt-one on the top end.

The reason for that is that it was solely built for Pikes Peak, which is a mountain climbing challenge. The SX4 beat it soon after.

Only 190?

It is a pikes peak hill climb car made for dirt use and it is crazy fast on and off the dirt.

Alright well thanks for the help everyone. Ill mess around with it a bit.

I've noticed with the Escudo, no matter how you fix the trans, it will not travel much faster than 200. I run it in our league with a bunch of LMP cars against me, but we are all limited at 808HP maximum and 900KG minimum, and usually I don't finish too far behind. Sometimes I even take a win with it. It will out accelerate almost every other car in the game, especially with TCS off. It is a very fun car though.

Check Praiano's tunes,he has a pretty good tune for this car,i don't know about the top speed though.

If used correctly, you can beat anything in the game (apart from Reb Bull and F1 cars).
I love it and use it for grinding around the Ring in the Seasonals World Circuits. 30 seconds lead at the end with no worries :)

have you done an oil change and engine rebuild

The GT5 version is called the Dirt trial car, the Escudo in previous GT titles was called the Pikes Peak. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the name, although in GT5 the top speed is much lower (probably more realistic). I beleive both versions come stock with 981HP. It was possible in other titles to tune it to around 1800HP.

yeah, in GT2 they dont count in the BIG drag created by rear wing, we could use some slipstreaming or DRS system :)
Then it would go very fast i think, also bear in mind that it has suction effect from certain speed.
Thats the same case with F1 cars, their wings creating big drag too, my max is some under 360 km/h (200 mph).

but in GT2 i achieved over 275 mph in Escudo wih slipstream, dont remember exactly number.

Top speed =/= great car, just saying :)

The Escudo is still a beast! Not 1800hp anymore, but you can still get 1000hp+ from it, and it has pretty amazing handling. I'm not much slower in the Escudo than I am in LMP's round the 'ring! Also as mentioned that absolutely mahoosive rear wing slows top speed too, no matter how much downforce you remove.
