Im stuck. (Ive searched and not found what Im looking for so I thought id post).
Im stuck too on GT4 damn thing! Im trying to finish the European Hall but cannot for the life of me find a car that suitible I either pick a small nippy car such as my my fully modded Elise which just about wins the first two races but then gets left for dust a le mans on the straights but I cannot find a suitible car that will have the high end speed and the power to reach in in le mans yet still be nibble enough to chuck around Paris - what did other people use for this race ive got about 1,000,000 credits but Id rather not spend too much of that. Im also stuck on the GT championship in the professional hall - but not spent as much time on this. Is there an existing thread where people recommend cars for certain races?? As this would be very helpfull for everyone out there
thanks.

Which race, or races, are giving you trouble in the European Hall?

I used the Toyota 88C-V Race Car (Minolta) with racing medium (R3) tires on the front and racing hard (R2) tires on the rear, but otherwise no modifications, to win the GT Championship. The Minolta is the prize car for winning the El Capitan 200 mile endurance race. I used a Cadillac Cien to win the El Capitan enduro. It is the prize car for Rally d' Capri (Easy) in the Special Condition Hall. You can win this rally with most any decent car in your current garage. It is really easy. So, for the cost of a set of racing hard tires, you can win the GT Championship. :sly:

Hope this helps.

Edit: Also, you may want to check out the race write-ups, as there is lots of info there about nearly every race and/or championship.

BMW M5 would be good for the European Championship, and useful for several other events too so it will more than pay its way. If there's a certain track you're not so good at perhaps you can still win the championship and get the prize car and bonus cash, then revisit later to gold the odd races you struggled with earlier.

M3 GTR or Aston Martin DB9 should be good for starters.

You should be altering your settings to suit the circuit - quick acceleration for Paris and high top speed for Le Sarthe, NOS would be handy for that one

I used a stock Ruf RGT and S2 or S3 tires (depending on track/tirewear).

For La Sarthe and Nordschleife I modified the engine to about 500hps. Only won 3 races (Grand Valley, Paris and Cote d'Azur) but collected enough points to win the championship.

//edit: You could win all races with this car, I just weren't good enough / didn't know the tracks well :)

I used a Pagani Zonda LM Race Car for the European Championship. Won all 5 races, and am a proud owner of a Jaguar XJ220 Race Car. You can win one of these guys in the slipstream missions (Missions 21-24).

Now for the GT World Championship.... You'll have to get a good LMP car for that. Try doing the El Captain Endurance to get the Minolta.

Hope this helps. ;)

The BMW M5 or M5 CSL is a great choice, one of my favorite.. The Mercedes SL's are also great handling cars, heavy but powerhouses. I once used my used Cerbera Speed Six with nothing more than sport brakes and LSD. The GT Championship, however is a toughy. You will have to pick a good car; Minolta, one of the Black LMP's, etc, and stick with it to learn how to drive these beasts. It took me quite a while to get the extreme speed down necessary for these tracks. I have actually won this championship with some LM's, fully tuned of course. The Skyline Concept LM you win in the Dream Car Championship is a blast to drive and is capable of winning the GTWC.

Actually, you have to win the GTWC before you can do the Dream Car Championship, which is in Extreme Hall.
;)

For the european championship, I used a Ruf BTR (very affordable), tuned to around 500HP, with S3 tires, and had quite nice battles, especially on the first laps.

Like others, I think A LMP should be the best choice for the GTWC, the easiest to win at the begining is the Toyota 88C V at el capitan 200miles.

Think I used the Lotus Esprit GT '98 for the European Championship. I bought that one in the used car 90s lot.:)

For the GTWC, use the Minolta Toyota 88C-V '89 like most of us here.:p

I won them all in a fully modded Lotus Elise 111R it should be sufficient. For the Le Sarthe race you can even the competition by straightlining across the gravel at each chicane.

I used the Nissan R89 to win this race, its best to try and win it by finishing all of the missions. You can basically use this car stock to win all the races. I tried a couple of times with the XJ220 and the Ford GT '05 both times had my ass handed to me.

I used what YuRiPa used. Lotus Esprit V8 GT. Great car with awesome Lotus handling. It's used so it's not to expensive and tuning it to around 400+ HP can be achieved for under 100k. Owned the whole Championship and used the stock tires too.

Can't beat that.

Oh and whoever used the Cien for the El Capitan, why? I used the Suzuki Concept car the GN/X or w/e. I got 200 A-spec points and lapped the field half way through the race (only competition was the Elise in that race). If you want to get full points for that Enduro AND an easy win use the Suzuki car (the one with the top down I forget the name but you have to win it from the One Make Races at Suzuki).
