go to www.eutechnyx.com and check the cars on the top of the pages. There are a few known cars (California, 599XX) but also new ones. This is what I'm getting, if you get different cars please tell (and show):

Is this for future SCC DLCs? Is this for a future game?

That Speed 8 reminded me that eutechnyx was the intial developper of one of my all-time favourite games ... "LE MANS 24 HOURS" . How I wish they would do it again ... :)

2005 Impala? Is this a joke?

It may represent DLC or it may represent cars we'll see in their next title. But more than likely, I think they're just 'concept' images.

I hope it turns out to be DLC :) Fingers crossed...

But surely, even for "concept" images, they need to be licensed, don't they? So, why not use the cars they have fully licensed to use in games? Wht pay a few minor licenses that allow eutechnyx just to show the cars in their site?

btw, What's a "Impala" ???!!!!

An Impala :)

An impala (Aepyceros melampus Greek αιπος, aipos "high" κερος, ceros "horn" + melas "black" pous "foot") is a medium-sized African antelope. The name impala comes from the Zulu language meaning "Gazelle". They are found in savannas and thick bushveld in Kenya, Tanzania, Swaziland, Mozambique, northern Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, southern Angola, northeastern South Africa and Uganda. Common Impalas can be found in numbers of up to 1,600,000 in Africa [2].

Well, I don't pretend to know how licensing agreements work. But I do know there is likely to be a complex structure in place regarding payments, fees, royalties etc. Having a car or a track in a game that people play is easy promotion for the track and vehicle manufacturer. It's media product placement and companies PAY big money for it as it's convenient and easy advertising. So in that sense, I really wonder if developers and publishers REALLY have to pay for the use of cars and track or if the reverse is true and the manufacturers and track owners actually pay royalties to the developers and publishers for having their products prominently displayed in the game. I used to assume it was the former. Now I'm wondering if it's really the latter. It makes you wonder.

Anyway, Blitz is correct. That's an impala. It's sleek, quick, sure footed, lithe, light, and graceful. Everything the Impala car isn't. If one assumes there's any form of metaphor behind it, Chevrolet's marketing people have a long history of acting delusional with their choice of vehicle names. Case in point:

The only thing CAVALIER about the much unloved Chevy compact was Chevy's attitude toward it's sub-par performance.

A classic, 1970s Chevy LE MANS would likely be too wide to fit down the Mulsanne Straight.

Malibu California is a beach front community with multi-million dollar mansions. I have no proof but I'm reasonably certain nobody in Malibu owns a MALIBU car.

The AVALANCHE, however, is a fitting name.

To be honest, if they release them as DLC you need to purchase, they would lose a lot of respect from me. They advertised the game before with these cars (there was also a '57 Chevy Bel Air) and everyone wondered where these cars are.

EDIT: And btw. the 2004 Corvette you listed above is the C5-R.

I'd imagine that some of the cars we are posting in here could give us a clue that this is not a teaser for a future patch of SCC, since that, to put it simple, they are not what one would call a "supercar" (Chevy's? BMW's?).

Could they be something for the future more in-line of GT? I'd really hope so.

I don't think any of these cars will ever appear on SCC.

Me too.

I don't think so. Just because the cars were on their site didn't mean they would be included in SCC.

The real disappointment is the extremely late removal of the Lamborghinis. That was a real loss. They are even in the trophies pictures and some shops still advertise them in their text.

Well apparently they're developing a much bigger game with a wider reach of cars and...stuff, and they're supposed to be half way through it.

That would fit better with the broad range of vehicles they're showing, but from the look of it they've got the art team from SCC on the job, so it should look spectacular :)

They were released as SuperCar Challenge pics if i remember correctly.
Or at least they released them around the time short before the SCC releasedate.
So yes, they used them to advertise the game.

I went back and looked at the Eutechnyx site. To me, it's pretty clear that all of these cars are pre-promotion for Eutechnyx's new title and it has nothing to do with SCC. There is in fact, nothing on that entire page that refers to Supercar Challenge in any way, shape or form. And this page specifically refers to "Future Plans" in the title.

The licenses to all of the tracks and cars that appear in SCC are in fact held by System 3 and not by Eutechnyx. That these cars, as seen in the first few posts, appear on a site owned by Eutechnyx and not System 3 makes it clear that they can not possibly appear in Supercar Challenge as downloadable content.

What's more, on the Eutechnyx site itself there is a thread about these pictures and they refer to their new title.

Let's all cross our fingers then for a soon to be release quality game from them then

The pics were released before SuperCar Challenge.

Exactly, but you forgot that at the time these pics were released SCC was "the" new title.

That's true. Which is why it was a maybe a bit confusing at the time. But in retrospect, when one considers the relationship between System 3 and Eutechnyx and who is actually responsible for what, it's pretty clear (at least let's say NOW it is) that these images have nothing to do with SCC.

This is why i said if they release the cars as DLC you have to pay for, i wont respect them anymore like i did before.
If its an entire new game, great. Maybe the pics are also just promo renders, who knows.

Actually these cars were the ones i looked forward to the most.
It was a bummer after i heard they wont be in the game.

I hear a lot of talking about those DLC's for SCC but is it been already confirmed? Or is it a supposition made from the experience of FC:TP?

To the best of my knowledge, neither System 3 nor Eutechnyx has EVER mentioned the existance of DLC for Supercar Challenge, either present or future, other than an unofficial, "We'd LIKE to do it one day if we can..." type of off hand remark.

While I'd like to see some additional cars and tracks for sale, my expectations for it actually happening are pretty low. I haven't seen any sales figures for SCC but considering that many people who WANT the game can't even find it for sale casts a shadow of heavy doubt on whether this game is generating enough sales revenue to make it a reality.

If any DLC is released, it will be because the car(s)/circuit(s) will appear in a follow-up title, I believe.

I don't think so Alan. Or at least, let's say, not necessarily. All of the tracks and cars in Ferrari Challenge and Supercar Challenge are licensed by System 3. Eutechnyx is only the developer. As far as I know, System 3 is NOT involved in the new title Eutechnyx is working on.

Well then in that case, I doubt there will be any DLC! :grumpy:

For FC, we got Nurburgring and a few cars. These appear in SCC. I believe the reason they were released in FC is because they knew they would appear in SCC, it would generate a bit of money heading into the SCC release, it would save money through re-usability, and it would boost the marketing of SCC pre-release. Perhaps it was always planned for FC to release DLC - but then why was it done so late? (...really really late!) The answer I think is what I've said above.

I'm not too bothered about DLC for SCC actually - I'd much rather them fix problems/bugs so we can race the current cars/circuits properly.
