Even sadder than the last sad joke i posted!

You may have to be British to get this, anyway.........


A man walks into a restaurant and orders squid. “Certainly sir,” says Jervaise, the waiter. “would you like to choose your squid from the tank over there?”.

“I’II have that little green one with the moustache,” says the customer.

“Oh no”, replies Jervaise. “But he’s my favourite! He’s so small and cute and friendly. Surely you’d prefer one of the bigger, meatier ones?”

“No,” says the customer. “It’s got to be that one”.

So Jervaise gets the little green squid out and puts him on the chopping block, raises his knife and............... the little squid looks up and smiles, twitching his bushy moustache into a big friendly grin!

“It’s no good”, says Jerviase. “I can’t do it. I’II have to ask Hans who does the washing up . He’s a big, tough brute - he’ll be able to do the evil deed.”

Out comes Hans, while Jerviase disappears in tears. Hans picks up the knife, raises it to chop the little squid’s head off and once again the little friendly squid looks up and smiles, wiggling his little legs and twitching his little moustache, so Hans also finds it impossible to kill him.

The moral.

Hans that does dishes, is as soft as Jervaise with mild green hairy lip squid.
 
Yeah thought that might be a bit off for you Americans.

Fairy liquid is a washing up liquid over here in Britain and their product / sales slogan has been, for the last few decades.....

"Hands that do dishes can be as soft as your face with mild green fairy liquid"

The jingle that goes along with it is as familiar to a Brit as the national anthem.


Oh well..... must remember to make sure my sad jokes are International in future!

Not a big thing!

Yeah i like having my countrys flag as my avatar, but then i have an obsession with the Union flag anyway. Keep thinking i should paintshop it a bit make it a bit more intresting but the attempts i've had so far are pretty lame.

Laters mate, i have to go do some work and the boss has just come in.

Yeah, it's supposed to be "sad" which kind of means it's funny in a not funny way.....

I really think you need to be english to understand it, everyone here in the office (about a dozen guys) all groaned and laughed at the same time when it came round as an email. Most of us were still humming the jingle the next day.

Sorry, i'll make sure my joke posts are of a higher standard in future!

Monty Python / Goons / Q8 / HIGNFY / Young Ones type humour is an aquired taste i guess?

haha, hell no. The Quebecers hate the Frence. They are a "distinct" society...

Anywhoo... not like you guys could have managed a large growing colony effectively anyway that was growing to this size.

But mabe then we would have got decent cars. :(
