This game is one of a kind, very unique game and it seems to be based on the Holy Bible, a unique experience that makes you want to find out more about what exactly happened in the abandoned town, you're alone, find the memories of people in order to find out what exactly happened.

Here's a preview

What are your thoughts on this game?

I've enjoyed some of his reviews but that is just appalling, seriously he's decided he doesn't like the game from the get go and is looking for every little thing he can. I think it looks intriguing, I'm not mad keen on the weird orbs and figures but love the setting, and the pace, and the graphics, looks pretty neat. OH I CAN OPEN THAT GATE BUT NOT THIS ONE sheesh welcome to 99% of video games. Pathetic.

Whenever NerdCubed makes a 'Hell' video, he'll go into the game knowing that he'll be putting it into hell; he doesn't even give some of the games a chance.

The Sonic Unleashed hell video was an example of this. There are countless contradictions in the video, and he even criticizes the plot in a kids game for being too goofy.

That's like, watching a three hour long movie, then saying that it's bad because it's too long.

IGN gave it 8.5, not that I take a great deal of notice of what they usually have to say. The whole premise is quite eerie though. I wish it was available for PC but will most likely pick it up when I eventually invest in a PS4.

Has anyone on here actually played this?
It's one of this month's free PS+ titles. My wife is currently playing it and it looks superb. The characters are well acted (voices) and whilst I am enjoying it, I keep thinking I'm hearing The Archers in the background ;)

It's absorbing and full of atmosphere - I'm purposefully not listening to the story, as I wan't to discover it for myself. Oh, and as there are no indicators on-screen, it's perfect for screen shots, so you can expect some.

Anyway, from the sounds and feel of it, the game feels like an episode of Sapphire and Steel but without David McCallum or Johanna Lumley's voices.

Played the first few hours today. It truly does get in there under your skin and the atmosphere, despite being around a deserted village is wholly absorbing, so much so that you notice the absence of birdsong as soon as it happens.

Good time of day transitions between parts of the story too: most flashbacks happen at night but different parts of the story take place at different times of day.

Here are a few random moments of the atmosphere you can expect - superb night sky, nothing like what we can see in the UK normally; but that's rather the point, I think. The occasional abandoned vehicle adds to the air of tension as you approach it too. Good stuff.

EDIT: I also noticed the Observatory's name is Valis: any connection to Phil K Dick's last novel I wonder?

No one to race? No one to kill?
What's the point?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Plenty, as can be seen in games such as Flower, Flow, Journey and quite a few more - consider the older games such as Myst. In other words, it's not always about the chase, or hacking your way to the top of a tower; if that's what you want, maybe you could give becoming a politician a go ;)

This is about story and the world is big enough to have more than two types of game.

Currently free on PS4 with PS Plus.

Edit: I am late to the party, and I apologize...

I bought Everybody's Gone to the Rapture when it originally released and absolutely love it. I think it is a criminally overlooked masterpiece. The atmosphere it creates is staggering and there are few games which give me goosebumps when I play.

My PS4 HDD has so many pictures and a couple of videos saved from my journey. I kept stopping and gawping at how beautiful it was.

Amazing experience.

I know what you mean @Scuderia Paul I completed it today and subsequently have been hearing snatches of the music in the background despite the PS4 being switched off. It even took my mind off the shock from that messy election.

A few more pictures from many.
