hi.
im a newb and i wanted to ask
out of the impreza's which one is the best?(best handling, corner)
out of the evo's which one is the best?(best handling, corner)
not stock....

also, when u guys tune for turbo, do u guys usually purchase the best one? (like turbo 4)

in terms of power, it's not worth buying the stages before the last one. Go check the tunning companies, they offer a 5th turbo with a lot more torque.

I'd suppose the last of each generation are best..

Maybe put in just level 1 or 2 turbos.. adding lvl 3 or 4 turbos makes your car too hard to control at hairpins and corners... best evo i think is the Super Rally Car '03...

the best Evo i liked in the game happened to be EvoVI T.M.E (i think that's the name). It only appears in the used car II(during certain days). And speaking of STi, i liked the STi IV 22B (also in the used car II).
I normally buy turbos but not install them, because i like to keep my cars with original power. I only install NOS (NOS do not increase your horse power however). Remember, most time the more horse power you have, the lower A-spec points you will get. So only increase the power when you obsolutely have to.

I agree. For a good Evo, you can't beat the VI T.M.E. GSR or RS, and the Impreza 22B looks good, and has one of the highest hp's for the Impreza's I believe.

For some reason i've noticed the Subaru's are a bit faster in the quarter mile than the Evo's, but in races i've noticed the Evo's usually finish in higher positions. Its really just what works for you, cause with a little bit of modification, you can make either one run faster laps. 👍

that's very true. also it shows how realistic GT4 is. i personaly drive a STi, but from all the driving magazines and personal experiences, i have to say even though STi does have fast 1/4 mile time, but when comes down to cornering and handling, EVO stands out front.

They are all capable, but my favorite regular "street" WRXs are the 22b and the Spec C.

I almost always go with a Stage 2 turbo, and all the supporting mods plus suspension/transmission/tires.Anything over stage 2 on an already powerful car is a waste of money...too unstable and hard to control. The only cars to go that high on would be something that is already underpowered but has a chassis that can handle the power. There is no need to go past stage 2,maybe 3 on an Impreza...just use a more powerful car to start with if you can't win!

read my sig.

when it comes to modded its a case for personal choice... and how well you tune.
the cars handling depends on how YOU set it up.

stock tho I prefer evos.

I do absolute minimal HP mod or none at all most of the time, Unless I am building a race car in which case i add downforce too

Not anymore... the 05 Sti beats the Evo VIII almost everywhere, no understeer anymore... A long time Evo's were stock with Yokohama sports tires and that was the major reason why it was a better track car; I have a review ( test track Nürburgring Norschleife & Hockenheimring) and the 04 Sti could beat the Evo 7 or 8, don't remember...

I actually tried these two last night, used the STi SpecC vs. the Evo VIII MR GSR, both at Laguna Seca. The STi is faster off the line (which would help explain the faster 1/4 mile times). The Evo IMO handles slightly better, in that it's more controllable, but it's more "tame" than the STi. The STi is a little more on edge, but a lot more fun to drive.

My somewhat unscientific tests had the STi running about a second faster laptimes than the Evo.

personally i think the Evo is better then the Imprezas... plus they look way cooler

In the game the evo's are probably a bit better. IRL I would much rather have a Scooby, since I know a bunch of people who have had problems with their mitsubishis.

Night kid dont drive 86, their leader drives a R32. I've been having problem with my STi lately due to some mods. (70% of STi 2004 have over boost problems once you install cat back and exhaust) :yuck: . I think IRL Evo is much to mods than STi because the engine structure.
