posted at my local car forum. pics were taken this morning around 1030am. this stretch of road had a speed limit of 50km/h and there were some sorts of construction works near by. guess he must be speeding. driver and passenger were reportedly ok. good thing was they didn't went over the side wall. this flyover is about 30 feet high. :scared:

Well that car was owned pretty decently I must say, I'm guessing they were young kids with a car they couldn't handel.

That thing must have an integral rollcage. I'm amazed there weren't any obituaries from this, too.

I also hope there were no construction workers killed or injured. In Illinois, thatt'l get you Jail Time. what's the law where you live?

By the by, is that thing on fire, or is there coolant everywhere?
 
that's what you get when you drive hard with a car that's controlled by computers. you forget that it's not any safer than regular car and push it too much. serves them right.

With all that smoke from the exhaust pipe I'm tempted to say it's still running.
Although it doesn't seem to be the correct shade of white smoke to say that it really is. (Burning oil or coolant, but still operating)
 
I love how the roof didn't collapse, that shows how safe that car is. And overall, for a flipped car, it doesn't look too bad. Most cars I've seen that have been flipped, are a LOT worse than that.
 
The accident isn't too serious, if anyone was seriously hurt I would be really suprised. (if they were wearing their seat belt)

If they want to keep a fairly healthy engine then I would recommend they shut the engine off quick smart.

It would still be running and burning oil.
 
No i dont think it did mate.

Contry to what hollywood shows, its actually quite hard to make a car blow up. Even shooting a tank full of Gas hardly makes it blow up.

What made you think it exploded...?

Like Fryz said, it pretty hard for a car to explode. Smoke from the engine like that is normal if its rolled over/ had a nasty crash.
 
Evos and Subies are incredibly rigid. As far as i am aware a sunroof is not an option on a WRX as it would weaken the shell.

Actually they were running from the car in slow motion, when it exploded with the force of a ton of TNT, just as they they threw themselves through the air.
 
Yeah, suuuuuure....@_@

I AM, wondering, however, if the thing caught fire in a less spectacular fashion...to add insult to injury.
