evo6, stage1 turbo, racing exaust, racing flywheel, semi racing suspension....

looses boost presure a full 1.5k rpm b4 the red line.
why?
can it be fixed so it doesnt loose presure without sacrificing HP. also without buying a stage 2 (or higher) turbo?

the TT (ugh...) does that too, but to a lesser degree.
i don't believe there is a way to fix it, but i'd certainly like to find one.

I thought of maybe chipping it and putting the old exhaust back on...

doesnt the smaller stock one create more backpressure for the turbo so power isnt lost or sumfin?

I'd love to redline this car but it is pointles really as it stands :/

Just upgrade the car a little bit more. I've never had troubles with my max modded Evo VI's.

well, i dont really want to boost the car too much.
I dont mind boosting cars a little but I dont like throwing whopping great turbos on and stuff :/

EVOs handle overboost remarkably well as long as the front and rear LSD acceleration / deceleration is equal.

First of all, the "Stage" of the turbo determines what "Stage" it is most potent in the power band. A Stage 1 is for low rpms and so on. So the Stage 1 is not going to hold boost until redline.

Another thing which everyone must watch out for. In order for an engine to have a turbo, it has to be a healthy engine. So before putting ANY turbo on, do things that make the engine itself run easier rather than something that forces it to run faster.

What I am trying to say is, do the engine balance and the port & polish before ANY mod. That is what I do. They may not give a great increase in power, and they are expensive, but they make the engine more responsive, flexible, smoother, higher revving and more capable to make use of boost. I bet if you made the engine more efficient with P&P and/or Engine Balance, you will see the boost hold on closer to redline, and not to mention you will lose all turbo lag.

Even in the tuning section I believe it says to never add a turbo to an untuned engine lest you reap the wrath of turbo lag!!!

The probelm might not be the turbo chargers at all, it might be the revlimiter. If you have the full racing gear box lower the final gear ratio until the engine doesn't hit the limit.
