Is it me, or is the new Evolution X the most boring car to drive on GTP? It feels like it has some sort of stability or traction control perminanty engaged and the car just lacks grunt and involvment. At first I thought I had actually left the TCS and ESP systems on, but I've filtered the issue down to the X's poor automated transmission. I'm impressed that GTP has reproduced this to such an extent that this is how it reacts in real life.

I often find it dull when they add brand new cars, or the successors to slightly older cars. It's so predictable, theirs just nothing exciting about it.

I really like the car. There is not many cars that let you point and shoot the corners. I think the car is a technological (sp?) marvel in the way it moves around the track. The less time I spend trying to keep the rearend in check the more time I've got to concentrate on beating you.

EXCELLENT handling dynamics, for comparisons sake, take a spin in ANY car, then do the same with the X. The way PD translates the use of the AYC and DSC is incredible. Although i despise the looks of the car, the engineering of this vehicle is truly a marvel.

Im sure that people just complain for the sake of it.... So you dont like a car... GREAT 👍 Thanks for the heads up.

Dont like it... Dont drive it...

Owh and just for the record, its a great car!

I don't think the Evolution X is boring at all because of the 4WD technology, it's Japanese, and a fun great sports car

the car pulls .99g on the skid pad and 72mph on the slalom. Staggering stats for a production car. Sharing the top with the new R35... still, it doesnt have much straight line speed since its 600 pounds heavier than the previous evo9.

And we only have the MR model which is ultimately an automatic... they should bring in the GSR and the RS on the next update 💡

Do a comparo.

Take the STI '08 out for a spin and establish your quickest lap within 20 laps on Eiger.
I'll put $20 that you'll beat that time in the EVOX within 3 laps, top.

The EVOX is just that easier to drive at the limit and has a much better overall handling.

Just bought this car yesterday in the game....and I was surprised of the record time around Eiger. I think it was around 1:12, which surprised me greatly about how fast that is, and as others have mentioned, the car is so smooth that it feels slow. Great piece of engineering for sure.

EVO X is a great car. Its the Transmission is the thing I cant get right

Still a great car

What do you can't get right? I struggled for ages to get the mix acceleration vs topend speed better.
Thanks to Dutch Custom Shop I've got a tune which helped me in the right direction
I still have a very fast acceleration, but with a slight change of the last few gears I now also have some kind of top speed ( 270 kph ) at the end of the straight before the rev limiter kicks in.
If you want i can PM you my adjusted DCS tune if you like for comparison

For what it is worth,

Let the people leave this beauty aside. I like it and it's different on the track between all the GTLM's and the GT-R's.
Managed a best time of 10'13.xxx at Suzuka whilst trying to chase a leadergroup of a few GTLM's, on average I'm between the 10'20 and 10'30 with a grid of clean drivers.

Anyway, everyone who loves this beauty and would like to race against similar folks add me to your friends list (GTP_MobySPD)

It freaks me out when I see one in the mirror - looks like Darth Vader following me. They seem pretty competitive, tho. Never fancied one - 4wd's not really my bag but If I ever feel like a change it'd probably be one of my first choices.

I've rarely seen one take top spot, but they compete pretty well (the /tuned version in 750PP), for instance, i was racing last night in about 4th and i hit someone off, so i ended up 10 seconds behind on lap 3. By the start of lap 5 i was within 2 seconds, the leader? an Evo X/Tuned theyre cornering speed was slightly below my Vipers, but I could cream it on the straight out of Spoon, so I didn't make any risk moves knowing it lacked the power to keep up.

Don't freak out, trying to chase you ( Ford GT 06) round Suzuka is hard enough with the EVO X. I always tought the GT06 ain't a curvesweeper.
But seeing you go round Suzuka at speed I must be wrong.
I'm testing a Corvette 06 tuned out for Suzuka, considering to alter that in favour of the GT06.

You have never raced with me then. During the daysof the Suzuka 700pp/750pp, I probably had more wins with the venerable Evo X and Evo X Tuned than with any other car. When set up right, it lauches lika a missile, it corners like it is on rails, and it has enough grunt to get it down the straight without being completely overhauled by the more powerful cars. The most enjoyable races I've had were at Suzuka racing with joeinda808 (usually a Ferrari 430), Kartracer (in anything), and chino507 (Subaru STI SA). Many other great racers too - usually won by the person who didn't blink.

Rudi is formidable in the EVO. Not sure if its the ten tho, think it might have been the nine. Rudi, what was that 4wd black horror you used to terrorise me with before you started simply wiping the floor with me in the lm spec?

sxboyd, in the moment you have no chance with any Evo´s against the GT LM @ 750 PP Suzuka. you can follow but not more. ;)

600 or 650 PP are something else. :dopey:

P3trallala, first i was using the Evo 10 at 750 PP, later i changed to the Evo 9. if someone ask me, the Evo 9 is a little bit faster in online modus, but the hotlap times are nearly the same.
the Evo 9 have more power on the straights.

I believe it comes down to the fact that we like to challenge ourselves in the game. It probably is boring in comparison to a high powered rear wheel drive. But hey! We all have something that makes a car fun to drive! sometimes its the ability to get the car around the track the fastest in comparison to just having the satisfaction of taming a hard car.

In real life! i'd have to say that the EVO X would be more fun then a high powered rear wheel drive. But thats just my opinion :D

the evo X is very point & shoot, which makes it easy to drive and boring. Also, you lose speed when cornering. My fav car to drive just has to been the F430, i love it how you can slam the throttle on half though corners and overstreer it but is has lots os stabillity

+1 👍

I reckon in real life I'd have more fun in the Nissan GT-R than any other car but ingame it sends me into coma.
