Are Technica is one of my favorite sources of technology news, and somehow I was not too surprised to see an article which commenced with:-

Making self-driving cars work—from the software that gently guides them through traffic without mishap, to the involved hardware that processes millions of bits of data every second—is a complex process. So it comes as something of a surprise to hear that Nvidia, maker of graphics cards and hardware for self-driving cars, used a video game to help create its self-driving simulations during testing.

The synergy between gaming and real world future simulation is interesting.

I find it a very interesting technology and I think within 10 years we will see many of those cars, pots or transport vehicles on the road. The part that interests me as well is the AI that comes with it and how decisions will be made by this AI (how can damage be avoided to humans, animals and objects and what decision does it make when it has to choose between the injury of a passenger, another vehicle or a pedestrian). It needs to be self learning, human intervention won't be needed anymore (SkyNet anyone).

Arstechnica is a great resource 👍

I've always felt Gran Turismos AI felt a lot like traffic.

Thanks GT
