Hello all, first like to go ahead and say that I am very happy with GT5. I wasnt at first but it took a bit to notice the amount of detail that went into the physcis and graphics of this game. One thing I do not understand is why didn't they take the time to give each car its own realistic sound?

I know there probably have been tons of threads asking why didnt they do this or that, but this is close to a deal breaker for me. When I first drove the Corvette ZR1 I was expecting something similar to this....

But got the sound of what I thought was bed sheet being ripped in half.

But, it's understandable that you can't get the sound of every car to sound as it would in real life, at least yet anyways, but come on. And I'm sure there are plenty of threads asking similar questions, if not then I'll do the honors.

Again not saying this makes the game horrible but with the talent that GT5 has, it would have made the game that much more awesome. /rant

If you do a search this has been discussed many times before. For a good laugh try putting a Ti exhaust on a muscle car. I hope PD gets it right one of these days.

Well crap, I figured that this had been discussed before but couldnt find anything. Guess I will search some more then.

I know what you mean, I put the Ti exhaust on my Dodge Challenger and made it sound like 20 year old tractor.

Try a general search on dislikes or disappointments with GT5 and you should find plenty of info.

.

well that sounds about right..:D

sorry I couldn't resist.:sly:

Yea.. this kinda angered me too. Ever hear a fully tuned ZR-1? Doesn't sound like it does in GT5.. sorry, its not a honda. Ive heard one in person and my body literally shook from the power of the exhaust, so loud, so juicy.. it sounds like a real muscle car.. not a 350z with a 6" muffler.

I have not been so lucky to hear one in person. There are a few stock ones around town I've seen. I'd kill for a photoshoot with one.

But yes, I was extremely pissed when I first started playing. I was expecting so much, but I guess what I was expecting would need more time. Time PD didn't have. But when I explored a bit more and discovered the Tokyo highway track(cant't remember the name) and I grew to like it. I play this more than Forza now. Being something new and different played it's part as well.

There are plenty of threads about sound. Plenty of threads complaining about the engine/exhaust sounds in particular.
