Exiting Races

So I never really noticed that the game doesn't ask if you really want to exit like it does with restarting until today. I was on Lap 187 of the Indy 500 (which is 200 laps) and I accidently hit exit when I paused the game for a minute. I do have an X2010 so I can grind it out in an hour or two tomorrow, but it still sucks.

Am I the only person who thinks it's idiotic that we don't get an "Are You Sure" prompt like we do with restarting?

I'm sure update 1.06 included a restart confirmation message, i'm looking at it right now.

I'm updated to 1.08 and its not there.. You're probably looking at the restart option, not the exit.

You can't accidentally hit EXIT without pushing other buttons!

So, what you are really saying is, you paused the game, then moved the cursor 3 times to the right and hit the X button, or even just once and hit RESTART? And this is PD's fault?

Umm no... That's not my argument. I'm pissed because they don't ask if your sure you want to exit like they do with restart.. I just lost 2 hours of hard work and now all I have to show for it is a car that lost some horsepower because I went about 480 of the 500 miles..
 
Always hit the start button or the circle button. You'll never have to worry about accidentally exiting.

But your argument is mute because you did 'extra' steps to help yourself exit the race, this isn't PD's fault, it's yours.
 
I did the same thing kinda. When I do endurance race I use a premium for the different views, switch back and forth. After I know my pit sequences I press pause and go to options ( right next to exit) andturn off the info for a clean screen. 2 1/2 hrs into nur, went to turn info on to check my tires and BAM. went one over real quick and ended the race. I was in shock. (It was the 3rd time doing this race) I feel ya though. It happens. You arent the first or the last to do it , believe that. Forget what the others are saying because theyre so perfect! If you try to restart it asks if your sure. So they should def add tha option to the quit race, I think!

You don't get it... I paused the race and put the controller in my lap, in the process I guess I hit the analog stick and it went over to exit. I picked up the controller again and hit X to unpause like I normally do, but I hit exit instead. If it would've prompted me to confirm me wanting to exit like it does with restart the situation would've been avoided. I'm not complaining because I made a mistake, I'm complaining because PD for some reason thought it would a good idea to only confirm a race restart instead of an exit.. If you don't get it now, then please stop posting in this thread, you just aren't understanding the point of this thread so why post?

By that logic, it wasn't PD's fault when people were accidentally restarting races, so they shouldn't have added the prompt to that either.

I think you mean that you lost 2 hours of your time. Going in circles isn't that hard.

Staying awake after a full day of school and Track and Field practice for 2 hours of mindlessly driving around in circle at 250MPH in an X2010 is pretty tough... In all seriousness, you are right, it won't be that hard to do it it again, just really boring.
 
I did that race last night & didn't think it was that boring lol. I need to get out more
 
I think PD should just put in a confirmation for both restart and exit in any race over 50 laps or something... why not?

Is it really that difficult to actually bother reading the screen before mashing buttons? No. xEquinox, I do see your point, and I do see where you are coming from, but yet again, stoopid people blame PD for their own error.

Just press the button that has the circle on it.
 
Yeh and then another button to ask if you are sure that you are sure that you want to exit

All the are you sure boxes in games annoy me

I feel your pain but its your own fault really
 
Hit the circle button next time. That's what I always do if I pause.
