The
Exotic Challenge Cup
Sign Up Thread

Hello and welcome to the Exotic Challenge Cup Sign Up Thread!

This is a cup for people who enjoy the cars that everyone knows and loves. However, this is not a cup where you use one car continuously. Instead, between races, you use different (or the same for certain races) cars in different races. I'm using this kind of plan so that more people can join even if they don't have every car I'm planning to use - most players on here could probably enter at least one race in this cup with the cars I am using. The races will also vary in PP limits, which can be found in the calendar below this message. In fact, a majority of the details for the races can be found in the calendar.

If you wish to sign up for this, PM me as said right at the beginning of this thread. Send me back this form:

GTP username:
PSN username:
Car choices (Races 1-10): (Just make it obvious enough as to what you're using, you don't have to give the full name)

Preseason races will also be hosted prior to the main season starting.

Calendar
All races start at 18:00 GMT.
The PP numbers are the limits for the races. Keep going down the page to find the eligible cars for each race.

Rules and Regulations

Race Rules

All modifications can be made except for Transmission, Suspension, Aerodynamics and 'Exhaust' (as in the actual exhaust, the Exhaust Manifold and the Catalytic Converter are still OK) mods.

The tyre limit for all races will be Sports: Hard tyres. The one exception to this rule is race 4 at Tokyo R246, for reasons that will be clear once you see the car lists. The tyre limit for that race will be Racing: Hard.

You may use ballast and power limiters to lower your PP where necessary.

Damage will be set to Heavy. You may also pit at any time, and pit stops are not mandatory.

All aids will be disabled, ABS being an obvious exception. SRF may also be considered to be left on eventually. Grip Reduction will be set to Real. There will be no boost and strong penalties. Headsets are allowed.

Eligible Cars
To find out what cars are eligible for the respective races, you MUST download the .rar file. In there will be a document showing lists for which cars will be eligible for which races, and it will also include the PP limits you need to stay within to race.

Qualifying will be held 15 minutes before the race. Qualifying may start a bit early depending on when the lobby opens but it will be continued until the start time is reached.

Points System

1st = 30 pts
2nd = 25 pts
3rd = 20 pts
4th = 18 pts
5th = 16 pts
6th = 15 pts
7th = 14 pts
8th = 13 pts
9th = 12 pts
10th = 10 pts
11th = 8 pts
12th = 6 pts
13th = 4 pts
14th = 2 pts
15th = 1 pt
16th = 0 pts
To accommodate for absences, only the best 8 out of 10 of your scores are counted.

You should be in the lobby before the race starts. If you do not join the track before the race starts then you will get a DNS and 0 pts.

All lobbies will be private, so add my PSN, V16T91, before racing.

Ensure you follow a traditional racing conduct. In short...
1. Every driver can use the width of the track, and if you are being caught by a lapping car, give way and give them a fair line. If you are in traffic ahead of you and will be lapped, you can continue trying to pass the cars ahead of you as long as you don't block the lapping cars' line.
2. Make passing fair. Contact that takes out two cars that make contact will not result in a penalty. If a car that makes contact with another is not affected in a major way by the contact but affects another car in a major way, the car that made the initial contact will be investigated and possible penalized. Avoidable contact also applies to this rule
3. Defend wisely against others. If you change your direction more than once in an attempt to block someone attacking you, you may be investigated and given a penalty.

Penalty System
Breaching the vehicle specs and Race Rules = DQ from race.
Breaching Rule 1 in the conduct = 15 sec penalty
Causing contact that affects another car but not the offender = 45 sec penalty
Causing avoidable contact = 45 sec penalty
Using a dangerous manoeuvre to prevent another driver from overtaking = 15 sec penalty
Forcing cars off track = 15 sec penalty
Overall aggressive driving = Warning

Report any incidents that you think may be suspicious and I will deliberate them in the replay. Penalties cannot be appealed against or reversed.
