Explain the Sound of the Chaparral 2X

Raced this car in a one make race on Northen Isle Speedway and just....dear lord. Never have i been so annoyed by noise but yet so interested by it at the same time. The constant crackle and pops make the race seem like a casual match on Nuketown in Call of Duty. How does the laser technology work, what makes the car sound like how it does in the game?

Haven't heard in in GTS yet, but it was pretty underwhelming in GT6... interesting technology though...

Haha sounds exactly like a warzone! Now we just need a few bombs going off between the bursts of automatic fire.
 
To be fair King Arthur and his court at Camelot managed to achieve the very same sound as that of the 2X, albeit at a much slower pace naturally, but the foundation of the sound was innovated by his brave knights.

And we're talking late 5th and early 6th centuries AD here. That is no mean feat.
