I ve been reading about all these new stuff u guys would like to see in gt4 and being a gt3 and gtc fanatic i'd sure like to have car damage, pit crew, different weather conditions, more cars in the races, no top in convertibles etc etc etc :D STILL, after playing a little of TOCA racedriver I have to say that I hope PD wont compromise the realism of the series because TOCA really sucks! I was going to buy that game after reading about all these new stuff but fortunately for me, my nephew went ahead and bought it himself so I was able to see what crap that game is! Maybe if I had never played granturismo I wouldn't say this but TOCA is miles away from gt3 - and its more than a year newer!
OK. i'm a bit past the age of enjoying that plot codemasters introduced to the game, but it´s not only that: that game has this cartoonish feel to it because of the pilots which are far from being realistic, the asphalt looks like ****, the cars turn by little jerks instead of a continuous turn and they simply don't turn while breaking! its so bad i couldn't believe it (even thought my nephew had been sold some bootleg version!)

Anyway, my point is: I´d rather have gt4 with some extra cars and traks, maybe one or two extra features (I'm sure PD would handle them much better than codemasters) than have all this things and a crappy game! I dont know much about programing but it seems to me that creating a perfect car (and gt cars are nearly perfect) is way easier that creating perfect - or at least realistic - human figures and so I think PD should not - unlike codemasters - bite more than they can shew (is this the correct idiom?-sorry my english stinks!)
But i´m not really afraid; those guys at PD are sooooo good that i dont think they would ever make gt4 crap :) :) :)

I can understand your view on TOCA compared to :gt:
They are both very different Games :cd: as far the the 'feel' of the cars go :D

However TOCA is very enjoyable if you put on a different mindset to that you'd have in GT?

As far as the graphics go, we've discussed it before: Basically more Cars = Sacrificed graphics (as in TOCA).

GT4 will be a great game. I think TOCA have captured the Touring Car scene extremely well focusing on the adventure aspects of Motorsport :chkflag:. Where as GT are very good with the cars :car:, tracks :curvyrd:, and Car Handling?

I think it was Y2 Tuscan who said it would be great to combine GT and TOCA? Now that's perfection and we'd get the Pit Crew, Dashboard, Damage, AI Magic :star:

What's everyone think? 💡

Ok your probably right Alexy2K
maybe I was expecting too much of TOCA or rather I was eexpecting TOCA would be gt3 with all the extras :D

something I dont thing would be too difficult for gt4 to have: when you «use» the opponents to turn and push them out of the track or when you cut through the grass you could be forced to make a pit stop like in real life racing :)

Still, I must say I side with the no compromise attitude towards realism of PD :)
