Hi, sorry for my english, this is my first post in that fantastic and professional forums!

I'm looking if there is a way to connect and be active at the same time the joypad DS3 and the steering wheel in GT5. I now work together but without the vibration in the DS3

I would need to connect the vibration of the ds3 to a ButtKicker, can someone help me find a way to take the vibration signal without open the wheel? thank you!

Marco

If someone knows that, I'm really interested especially with the bad sound engine in GT5 that makes the buttkicker pretty useless with this game.

Really interesting question, unfortunately I don't see any way this would be possible. Extracting the vibration signal to the buttkicker isn't the difficult part, the problem lies in being able to use both the controller and a wheel, so as to get both FF from the wheel and rumble from the controller at the same time.

Just move on to PC man, forget about all these limitations. :)

Yes Coxis, PC racing games, expecially with your three monitor set, and your pedals, is fantastic!:)
But my priority is, for the moment, to play with GT5:guilty:
Thanks for reply,
Ciao!

Hi Mrarchi

My advice is to forget about the DS3. Set the PS3 to multiout and take the signal from the stereo RCA outs on the PS3 to the amp which powers your Buttkicker. You shouldn't get too much wind noise if you select the cockpit view in GT5.

If the filters on your amp aren't cutting out the unwanted high frequencies (e.g. above 100Hz) from the signal try an FMod inline filter (they come in pairs from Parts Express) you can also use a 31 band graphic equaliser such as the Behringer 3102 to adjust the strength of signals reaching your amp.

If you have an AV receiver with a subwoofer output, you can experiment with using this output. You may still need to use an FMod to cut out the frequencies above 100Hz.

I have experimented with tactile vibration from the PS3 while playing GT5 and have been happy with the results (although there is always room for improvement).

Is there something you are unhappy with relating to your Buttkicker e.g. bottoming out? For the Mini LFE's there is a fix involving the use of foam.

Hi Sick, and thanks for reply.

I'm already using the output of the subwoofer receiver to send the signal, filtered at 100 Hz, at both the powered subwoofer, and to a tactile trasducter amplifier.
I wanted two of my four transducers not vibrate at low frequencies with the sub, but with the vibrations of the dualshock 3, which are much more real. thanks:)

Hi Mrarchi

You could experiment with using the multi-out instead of the subwoofer out - you might prefer the effect.

Or you could experiment with using two transducer amps one on the .1 channel and the other on one of the 5 channels of an AV receiver. The centre channel is good for engine vibration effects.

No suggestions re linking to the DS3 rumble feature - that might not be possible.

Thanks Sick,

I have a stereo amplifier for the bass shaker, 2x60W RMS, a Rotel power amplifier, and now I use one channel for the two shacker under my rig and other channel for the under-seat and for the under-pedals shacker.

I will experiment your idea, at the first possibility i suppose the center channel out, in my receiver, is filtered above 80 Hz, i will tey to enter in the setup of the yamaha receiver to try and test...

Thanks and ciao!

Yes - to get low range signals on all 6 channels you might need to use 2 AV receivers - one for sound with the crossover set to suit the subwoofer and the other for tactile with the crossover switched off. To do this you would need to split the optical audio out from the PS3 - use a powered splitter to prevent loss of signal.

I haven't done this myself because I just use stereo and mono tactile effects, but there are some on this forum who use multi-channel tactile such as Carson79 who uses 7.1 and might be able to help.

I also use a big bass box wich really is very strong on low RPM's but also feelable on high rpms and bead road things. I don't have a rig but the subwoofer is on the same desk as my steeringwheel so I can feel the vibrations through my G27. It's a shame I only have a 2.1 speaker set-up with amplifier. A 5.1 would be far more realistic. I like the idea about dual shock vibrations though...
