F.E.A.R. for xbox360

I tried the demo on the marketplace.


Here my impression compare to the PC version:

1. the game run at 30fps.(One the PC version it can run at the refresh rate of your monitor 100FPS & over)
2. The texture seem cleaner but the resolution of it seem lower. Like the fence are more visible.(Bump mapping is less visible) :sly:
3. Shadow & shaders seem to be similar to the PC version set to maximum.
3. Anisotropic Filtering & Anti-Aliasing is top notch.
4. When you climb & when you slide down the ladder, the animation is kinda weird. >_>
5. Water look better than the PC version.
6. The rest is pretty much the same as the PC version demo.

Didnt know it was available on the marketplace already. Sounds like a good quick review of it. I have it for PC but I dont think I will buy it for the 360. I will probably just rent it. Its a good game but highly overrated. Probably one of the most overrated PC games I ever played. I ran everything on the highest setting on my PC in 1280x1024.

Stick with the PC, It's almost impossible playing that game without the auto-target. The control is well done for that game though.
 
I will rent it for the 360 for the achievements. Since I have played the single player 2-3 times on the PC then I should be able to easily beat this game in a rental because I already know where everything is and I know where to go.
 
Wow, it just went up, I can't believe you got to it already Mr deap.

Edit: No joke about the frame rate, it's really bad, same with some of the videos on Xboxlive, it's like they just threw something together to shut people up.

The Demo play the same as the PC version. Though for those who have a middle setup like mine... The XBOX 360 remain a better version for the visual.

X1600 Pro 512MB(Perform better than a X800 on this game & I can pump up the texture to max without losing performance)
2X 512MB DDR400 in Dual Channel OCZ Premium

Though, I don't really use my PC as a gaming machine, I prolly use it to do video editing & watching anime.
 
Yes you need one hell of a machine to run FEAR on the PC. I actually had a gaming PC built just for this game. Then I was extremely disappointed when I found out how over rated this game was. I know I already said this a few posts back but for what I went through to play this game, it wasnt worth it. So dont build your PC just for this game. Get it on the 360 instead if your PC isnt good enough.

I heard that the XBOX 360 version will have HDR in it. So it make it worthwhile. :cool:

Also HDR really slow down the game when used. :sly:
 
I will play the Fear 360 demo this weekend to give my personal review of the demo compared to the PC version in the highest settings. Obviously it wont be as good but it will probably be decent. I will make a quick note to check it out. Maybe have Heather DL the demo while I am at work.

The Demo don't have HDR. The final product won't look like the demo as I heard. Anyway, you should give it a try, so everyone have a bigger idea how different 360 vs PC of FEAR.
 
Heather just downloaded it for my while I was at work. I will play it tonight or some time this weekend and give my comparison between 360 and highest setting PC. But we also have to remember this is only a demo and the full games are almost always better.

This part creeped me out so bad I get goosebumps every time!

Your PC outperform my PC greatly.





Number are right from several benchmark. About the double performance. Though My CPU is weaker for gaming so you have a little edge for the framerate(The explanation for being more than double)

Knowing about PC spec & all... I guess Tomb Raider Legend will run better on the 360 vs your PC, lol. Anyway, it always surprise me how the 360 handle the texture though.

I am happy to hear that. Everyone I talked to said it was extremely good and very fast. Even on this site everyone seemed to be impressed so that made me very happy since I dont know a whole lot about gaming on the PC. I just told the guy I wanted a gaming pc that would easily play FEAR so that is what he built me. So far I have been able to play everything on the highest settings including Far cry, Age of Empires 3, Fear, and anything else I put in. 👍
Too bad its collecting dust now that I have the 360. :lol: The AOE3 expansion comes out next month. Thats when I will play my PC again.
 
I will be comparing the Xbox 360 demo with the PC version in a split screen mode on my HDTV real soon, which will mean me taking some photos. Also when I get a PlayStation 3, hopefully they will bring a PlayStation 3 demo out, once the PlayStation 3 comes out guys, which will also mean more split screen comparing.
 
I played the Fear demo this weekend for the 360 and lets just say its no where near as good as the PC version. Not even close. Somewhere in the above replies someone stated that the water looked better on the 360 version. That is not even correct at all. If you have ever played Fear in the highest settings on the PC then you play the 360 version, you are going to be disappointed. Out of all the 360 games out right now that I have played, I would say Fear probably looks the worst. The game play isnt even the same as the PC. The AI is a lot more forgiving on the 360 version. The AI also seems to be quite stupid at times. I was also shocked how short this demo was. Maybe 15 minutes max. :crazy:
Still an extremely over rate game but now it just looks and handles worse on the 360. It was a demo so maybe the final version will be better but dont expect much and you will probably be happy. Just look at ll the pics I posted above. The 360 version is no where near that good.
 
Okay, pretend for a minute that some of never game on our PCs, and have never played this game before.

Me, I thought the demo was pretty cool. Actually thinking of picking this one up.

Even if you do pretend that, this game still falls behind 90% of the 360 games out there in every way including graphics and gameplay. I am extremely open minded but most of you that are currently playing 360 games are going to be disappointed when you play FEAR. Just dont expect much and you will probably enjoy it.

It's funny, coz the game look exactly like the PC demo, but capped at 30fps.

I have the VGA cable. Everything is identical when it come for what you see with your eyes. Though, it's capped at30fps & you play with a controller.

Check the pics in previous post. Just compare to your TV, you won't find any difference. I took pics of the places in the demo.
 
i just started playing this game the other day and i like it sofar, im almost to level 4 and im playing on extreme difficulty ;)
