I did this combo for the first time the other night and enjoyed it so very much. This track is perfect for this car. It really lets the F094 show it's true colors. A very fast run.

So I thought, how about a little lap time comparison/spot race?

Anyone interested in this?

as it happens yeah ! How about 1.00.29 quick lap ? I havent run this since last year but this is down as a saved track from when I ran the F1 series done by SandStorm. I wasnt the quickest by a long shot so others will have a quicker lap than that,

sough
t13r
bollocks
turbo smoke

I hope you mean the Poly 001 (Im PAL)

James, you read my mind :)

I'll give this a crack when I get home tonight from work 👍

Cool beans. Glad to see some interest.

Im not going to run it again because Im too busy with the weekly but from what I remember its a really good track and the Poly seems to fly around it !

I got alot of 1:05:**'s at that track. I love to do it with the P001 especially the chicane after the first few tun's and the last chicane thing at the end of the track.

I am right in thinking the f094 is the same as the Poly 001 ? and yeah bollocks I know I should know that !!!
edit - I reckon I could dip under a minute for this one !

I just signed on as a member here and have been looking for a quick one off race. I think I just won this car in the dream car race. If I have it, I'll give a go tomorrow night.

So far my best is 1:00.6XX. I think I can go under a minute with some more practice.

My "problem area" seems to be the last chicane after the back straight. I could shave off half a second if I got that just right.

make sure you do my friend ! The F1 car around this track is a good opener to On Line Racing !

I'm going to open up my saved file of this lap and just have a quick look to see if I think Id be able to crack the minute barrier ! It was last year and surely you racing skills get better with time ! Oh and BTW welcome to GTPlanet George - thats if you havent had a welcome already.

Yes you are.

It's not exactly the same - there are visual differences. But it's the same chassis, same engine and the body - although looking marginally different - is located in the same place on the disk.

Thank you Mr.know it all :D (j/k)

Thats what I hate when you are online, you just cant pick up the tone of what someone is saying, so you dont know when they are trying to be funny, sarcastic or otherwise

Should be having (another) crack at this one tonight

Oh yeah, Famine have beaten your time around L.S in the Skyline mate;)

I.... haven't run a Skyline/Laguna Seca lap...

:O Having just had a look, Ive mistaken you for NQ :O :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I think I need my eyes checked:D

I know what you mean there with the fact that we can only read peoples comments ! Are you on a sub minute run on this course Bollocks ???

yep, would you expect anything else? 58.455 so far

I remember having a low 57 during the F1 series this summer. Probably something like a 57.3xx

Sough is at a 55.934

Yeah, I ran a 57 in that comp. but Sough  indeed:D

Still over a minute with 1:00.341. Tonight is the night to get under a minute.

This is just like the old times from last year when we ran the series - Sough got some really fast times, I havent re-run this yet but I will do

With a handful of laps I managed a 1:06.xxx. Wasn't 100% clean though, I brushed the inside wall of the downhill right left combo right before the hairpin.

I'm having a heck of a time with the first left after the tunnel. I've been messing around with different lines there and if I ever figure it out I'll be golden.

Dont' see a sub 1 minute lap for me anytime soon though. You cats are fast!

Finally broke a minute. But I did it late last night and I'm at work where I can't check the exact time. It was the mid-59's though. I'm still working on it. I'd like to get into the 58's.

I seem to loose all my time at the end, the last chicane and the last long right. I'm always beating my best until right there.

Yep that last long right is a real momentem killer. And it sets up that looong straight so if you blow the turn your whole next lap is shot.

Since this seems to be for fun I'm going to go on the assumption that it is ok to discuss lines??

I have the chicane before the last long right worked out pretty well and would be glad to share if that is alright.

Share away. As far as I know this all very unofficial and casual.

Just after T2, slightly on the uphill bit there is a crosswalk paint across the road, I brake here back to 3rd briefly for the first part of the chicane, then into 4th almost immediantly picking up the ripple strip on the inside (Right hand side), get to the left hand part as close to the wall as possible, brake back into 3rd for the second right hand part, climb over the ripple strip and accelerate out of the chicane upto the last corner of the track
:cheers

Bollocks' description is almost identical to how I attack that chicane. However, I can sometimes take the first right left without downshifting into 3rd until the final right. Gear ratio will have alot to do with that I'm guessing.

Any tips on how to get around that bohemouth of a right leading onto the S/F straight?

Flat in 3rd works for me

sorry guys i did 58.355 in 2 laps i dont know why it take you guys a while just to run those times. this is without the walls you know just plain cornerin. oh an i can still do faster but in the mean time here is a time for you to think about.

We all have our individual reasons for being slow. Mine is apathy. :)
