Which constructor will win the 2015 F1 championship?

What are your predictions for the 2015 F1 season? Which cars to you expect to be competitive? Which teammate do you think will be better?
There is a big mystery surrounding the competitiveness of the new Honda engine in the McLaren, so it will be interesting to find your view on this! Also, with Lotus moving to the Mercedes engine, we should hopefully see a return to form.

I still believe that the Mercedes engines will be on top but I have no idea which team will have the best package.

Yes, it will be hard to predict which Mercedes powered car will be the best. If could easily be any one of them!

Mercedes will dominate. Ricciardo will sneak in a couple wins. Everything will be the same as 2014. The Honda engine will prove to be good, but the package surrounding it will hold it back, even with 2 of the better drivers on the grid.
 
Mercedes will win it easily again with Williams coming second.
 
1) Mercedes - They will continue to dominate and will once again provide a close driver battle, only with Nico coming out on top.

2) Red Bull - Will build a solid car, but Kvyat's lack of experience will prevent them from challenging for the constructor's trophy.

3) Williams- Their car will be competitive early on but fall back later in the season as I just can't see them having the funds to upgrade the car as much as the top 2 unless Martini ups their sponsorship or another big name comes along.

4) McLaren- They will have a comeback season with Alonso winning a race and both drivers getting a few podiums.
5) Force India- Will pretty much be the same as 2014.

6) Ferrari- Will fail to score the podium for the first time since 1980. Sebastian Vettel will also write a book called " Why did I think this was a good idea: My move to Ferrari".

7) Lotus- Pastor Maldonado will be replaced after crashing out of the first 6 races.

8) Sauber - Will continue to struggle, but will at least score some points

9) Toro Rosso - Both drivers will show promise, but inexperience will hurt the team all year long.
 
The Mercedes.

Playful question: Will it be FP 1, 2 or 3 in Australia that the first Honda stops for a smoke break? And will Alonso have grown his beard long enough to hide his disappointment?
 
Mercedes will win unless the Honda engine is better.

The regulations are dominated by the Power units, and a team with a works supply of that is just going to have the complete advantage.
 
It'll take a minor miracle for other teams to catch up to Mercedes in the hardware game, and then they have to contend with the fact that Mercedes has one of the very best drivers on the grid and one driver who is only a whisker slower than said very best driver.

It would be lovely to see other teams challenge Mercedes, but I wouldn't stake anything of any value on it.

The only real wild card is McLaren/Honda, but I rather think that even if they somehow ended up with the fastest car they'd still manage to lose the championship. They seem to have a nasty habit of choking.

Yes, 2012 comes to mind particularly when McLaren had the fastest car but had too many mechanical retirements to claim the title. The new engine almost guarantees a lot of hiccups early on in the season, and this may be the difference between the title and second place even if they are the fastest.

Mercedes will win both championships again. They will still have the best car in the grid and their dominance could be even more obvious as in 2014.

Williams will be fighting against Red Bulls through the season, they will score a win or two, but they will also make mistakes in other races.

Red Bull will be as good as non-Mercedes engined car can be, but that won't be enough to challenge Mercedes.

Ferrari will fire even more people and get even worse results. Raikkonen retires in 4-7 races.

McLaren will be good, but the Honda engine won't be good enough for them to win any races.

Force India will continue to get results they did this year, their money troubles won't affect their performance.

Sauber will have more drivers than any other team, they won't have any more cars, though.

Lotus will be better than last season, Grosjean will score few points and Maldonado will get time to crash other things than F1 cars.
 
I predict this top 4:

Red Bull 2nd - Even with everything against them and Vettel having a bad season RB finished 2nd this year so I expect them to do well again especially if they can make up some more time on the straights.

Mclaren 3rd - I think the Williams will be a slightly better package but in Button and Alonso they have 2 of the most reliable point scorers on the grid.

Williams 4th - Williams showed plenty of promise this year but it's hard to have faith in them when you look at their performance in recent years.
Half of the top Ferrari guys will be fired at the end of 2015 with 2016 becoming yet another "transitional year" :ouch:, Vettel/Raikkonen will need to find some form for them to get 5th.

I agree with your predictions :lol: It seems Mercedes are the most popular.

Williams will be very strong, Massa will be outperformed by Bottas, who could give them a win this year.

Red Bull will be as prominent as ever, Danny Ric will be on the podium with his grin shining quite brightly a few times.

Ferrari will fire yet more people, and still be an unstable mess of a team, not providing a car to suit Kimi's style, while Seb gets to grips with a worse car than Suzie last season.

McLaren-Honda will provide the pyrotechnics on-track, with Alonso getting very frustrated and Button ready to leave.

Toro Rosso will be the same as always. Decent team but not the experience it needs (which JEV could have given them...)

Caterham will get to testing and Australia, but die before the Belgium GP, with no crowdfunding to save them this time.

Sauber will continue to underperform before suffering the same fate as Caterham, more towards the end.

Yes, I definitely think that Williams will be a major challenge to Mercedes this year. They have great knowledge of how to create great cars even without the funding of the top teams - they showed up McLaren despite McLaren being one of the best teams in terms of money.

Yep, bang for yer buck is in orbit for Frank and Claire. It'll be very nice to see one of everyone's favourite teams back on top.
