F1 car tires/oil limitations

I was about to enter the F1 Championship race, so I decided to get some R1 tires for the Formula GranTurismo... then I realized there's nowhere you can buy them.

So I went to GT Auto to change the oil beforehand, and you can't even enter it with the F1 car.

Then, how does the F1 car respond to the power degradation related to dirty oil (5%) and engine wear (2%)? I have just about 100 miles on it so far so it's still at its peak 904PS, but what will be of it during the championship?

Why all this?

i was unhappy with this as well.... i don't really feel like sitting through another 230-ish laps around nurburg again....

Best bet is to have it copied to another memory card, and just transfer it back again in trade
when you want a fresh one.

that's what I would do anyway... b-spec the nurburgring 24 hours... just before bed... sleep, then go to school or work or whatever. Keep the money and the car :)

If Polyphony did things right, none of the race cars would lose power. Why? Because real race teams have spare engines, and they get rebuilt often, thus maintaining peak performance. For the street cars, they should have an "engine refresh" option just like they did the chassis refresh.

Im also just dissapointed in general how there is only one F1 car in GT4.

I would have figured with there being atleast 5 (thats how many i ever got) in GT3 that there would be more or atleast the same amount.

Correct me if im wrong : /

I have over 20 000 km on my F1 car and it still has 904 hp. Keep in mind that if you keep hitting the rev limiter when driving then you will wear out your engine. So drive safe! hehe.

How many c'ships and enduros have you done on that machine!! Guess a season on one motor in 2006 F1 season should not be impossible. :nervous:

Heel yea its possible , this is when you have A Ferrari F1 engine.

The Ferrari F2005 engine is already possible to get 3 races, where only 2 races are needed in 2005. And knowing they push $400 000 000 in a F1 team, the F2006 can sertenly do a whole season if they want.

The best guess would be because of the FIA and any set contracts with any other game makers. The FIA is big on making money, allot of it, and all current F1 cars must be approved as well as any merchandising rights and a bit of the profit generated. Hence the names that were given to the cars in GT3 and why they are all listed under PD.

^ Not true...mine has all ready lost 15 HP.
Nope, this isn't true, if yours is 15 down on figures posted here your using different units to whats being posted here. The fact is the F1 car never loses any power.

But Sony does have exclusive rights to Formula 1. That is what I can not figure out why they can not use that license for this game.

Who told you Sony has exclusive F1 rights? If that's true, why has EA made the last few F1 games on PS2?

I wouldnt think sony has exclusive F1 rights. Its a racing game that ranges from cars sold at the local dealer to high-end racers. I think that there has to be something going on, as in, somebody has a problem mixing F1 with street cars.

Sony also doesnt get EVERY license, unless they dont even try to get licenses from high-end sport car (ferarri) dealers.

I'm dissapointed there isnt more option with GT4's F1 selection, but its not an F1 game so what can you really expect?

i thought there was two f1 cars in gt4 the made up one and there was one that was in gt3 that was willams i think but i may be wrong i could of sworn i saw it in one of the garge shots

I'd look to see Ferarri,Lamborghini, and porsche in GT5 cause EA license runs out in next year or 2 i believe. Also with the sales of the GT games going larger then the EA racers, also the fact that GT is more of sim then a arcade i don't see them singing another eculsive deal with EA. just my 2 cents. I personally want to get my hands on a Carrea GT but i'll wait.

Sony does have an exclusive license agreement with F1.

That's why EA can't make F1 games anymore. Their last F1 game was F1 Career Challenge.

👎 👎 👎 👎 That game was terrible.

As soon as I got my F1 I saved my game on another memory card just incase the HP does go down (or the chasis gets loose). Just a precaution so that I don't have to rerun the nurb 24hr. Also, what color F1 car did you guys get? mine was all white.

💡 Let's post pictures of the different color schemes of the F1 cars:

It wasn't that bad, what other game is that mod friendly??? That is the reason those games have stay around for so long, you get tired of the F1 cars and someone makes the cam am cars or the Le Mans cars etc. Something that I would love to see for the console games.
