last pic doesnt come from me, but it shows how it looks like with wheel
as you may notice, there are some scratches, nothing really disaster
i sat down inside cockpit, you feel very confined, not much space for moving hands.
on the contrary, from the eye level, the height of cockpit seems to be higher then expected
however height of cockpit is nearly around 50 cm
the lengt is around 2 m
i m wondering if i can fix csw on it

it has been a full pain to move it in my apartment, quit heavy aswell, these kind of cockpit take whole space in ur living room lol

I don"t know which is more beautiful - the Ferrari F1 or the apartment... lol

So is the nose missing, or did the previous owner have it placed against a wall?

I was thinking the same... I'm jealous of both!

This cockpit with one of the commercially available F1 wheels and a triple projector setup would be awesome. If you're into open wheel Formula racing, that is, which I'm not but I can still appreciate a good rig.

thanks :sly:

most of semi F1 cockpits are like this

semi cockpit from arc team

all these stuffs infront of nose are currently useless (oil container, cables...)
i ll remove it anyway for fixing pedals

You say it is homemade? How much did he charge you for this? What is this made out of and did he have blueprints/plans to go with it? I like this setup a lot and plan to build my own somewhat like this.

i paid around 800 euros
i had another offer but it was 2x more expensive
100% carbon and real F2 monoplace
sure it is hugely expensive but its still less expensive than Red Bull F1 playseat :sly:
i think its made in sort of mdf
i didnt have any blueprinst
here is a link that might help you :)

Nice rig! I've been wanting to make my own almost identical to this for a while now :).

A couple questions,

Is that fiberglass laid over the MDF on the outside? For strength do you think? (as the MDF looks quite thin)

How is the foot position? Are your feet well above your butt as in the Sauber video above? (I know you do that have pedals in yet but you get what I mean :) )

i think former owner rubbed own the surface before painting
surface feels quite smooth and glossy
well, when you sit down inside, your feet are little above ur butt position but you feel actually as if you lie down on ur back
from the beginning of nose to the end, i measured an height of 19 cm to 19 cm on the top
pay attention with the measurement, as i noticed, you feel very notice in the cockpit, it doesnt fit comfortable for taller people

Are there any visible screws near the edges of the top or sides? I'm amazed at how glossy it is, as well as how smooth the edges are. when I built my cockpit, sanding the pieces seemed to remove the glossiness, rather than accentuate it. (intended, as I was painting it a matte black, but I decided that after I sanded the edges and was left with dull edges and glossy middles)

I'm not doubting you, but it's hard to tell from the photos exactly what's going on there. Are there visible seams between the top and sides?

I would expect that if it was just MDF it would look more like the plans that you linked to above. (still a great cockpit but a little more 'boxy'.)

Your cockpit is really well made :)
