I just got my first F1 not too long ago, the F094/H from golding all the endurances (I've now golded on endurances 13 times and not won a random F1 yet).

I'm curious about a couple things.

I assume all the F1s are only equippable with medium tires?

Addionally, I noticed the older F1 cars (686, 687, 688) have more horsepower (with fewer cylinders even) than the newer ones (090, 094). Are the ones with more horesepower generally better than the ones with less? I have no idea what they weigh and I'm curious if I should go through the effort of getting them.

On my 094/H I can't hit the max RPM in 6th gear (and therefore max speed too) because of the low torque(?). Any tuning I can do to fix this? I've played with the gear ratios somewhat with no luck.

The F1s seem to have extremely good low through mid range acceleration but the highend acceleration is bad (though the eventual top speed isn't bad). Any tuning suggestions to help this as well? Or is this another consequence of poor torque?

Lots of questions from a curious F1 newbie :weird::smilewink:weird:

The reason the 686, 687, and 688 have more hp is becuz in the 80's it was F1's Turob Era, all the cars had Turbo's thats my it has more hp than your 94/H. I personally have the 94/S and i love it, the 94s are the best cars in the game, i also have never maxed the rpm's and the speed u can only really do that using the wheelie trick or unless u are drafting another car.

:D I have also got the F094/S (although it's called teh Polyphony 001 on my PAL version for some reason, i'm just going by the pictures here!)
I have found after racing on Test Course that I can keep a higher speed by forcing the transmission to stay in 5th by holding the two paddles on the back of the GT force steering wheel (equvialant to L&R 2 i think), I found that when the car changed upto 6th the speed dropped dramatically, using this technique and not adjusting any settings ('cept setting the gears to ULTRA wide!) I can get a top speed of 359Km/h:)

Yeah i've done that 2 i hate it when i accidently shift into 6th on fast tracks. 359km/h is that 224mph?? I've gotten my F094/S up to 245 in the draft of a Toyota GT1 Race car.

I'm not to sure quite how fast that is in MPH, it has been quite annoying that the PAL version only has km/h, especially as in England everyone uses Mp/h in real life!!
I haven't tried drafting, i've usually overtaken everyone by the 500m mark, doesn't give you much time to do much 'cept steer round the slow b*****ds!!

I think its sumwhere round 224, i'll have to check my conversions.

Lower you downforce just a teeeeeeeny bit. It'll hurt the handling overall, but you'll get that coveted redline.

That is strange....I can get the rev limiter with all 6 of the F1 cars...easy!

Is the 094/S lighter than the 094/H or something? I assume there is a reason why you say its better than the S. The prize cars lists that I've seen show they have the same HP.

Opps! I noticed you said the 94s (plural) not only the 94/S
