So we had a favorite race thread...but I'm curious as to everyone's general highlights for the F1 season. I'm sure some of you attend a GP or two or something struck you as great. What will you remember about 05?

My highlights of 05;
- Meeting and shaking Jarno Trulli's hand in the Indianapolis airport.

- Being one of maybe 3 Trulli fans in stands when Trulli took pole at Indy, my home GP. My wife and I were sitting accross from the Toyota garage cheering, well I was...she is a Rubens fan. Say what you want about the race and Toyota knowing there would be no race, etc etc...it still was amazing to see him get pole.

- Witnessing the Indy "race"....I don't feel cheated in anyway. I saw something historic that more than likely will never happen again.

- Literally being on the edge of my seat for the last 4 laps watching the Suzuka race live. Cheering Kimi at each corner. That pass on Fisi had me jumping around the living room at 2am.

-Alonso fending off M.Schumacher in the dieing stages of the race at Imola. Reminded me of great battles Schumi had with many in the mid 90's. Its the sort of close attacking and defending we rarely see now

The last laps of Imola and of Suzuka were pretty special. As well as staying up until 5am the night before an exam to watch Indy, it was pretty cool seeing something like that.

All those times spent watching races...and then falling into a subconscious stupor, waking up 10 hours later, startled, and frantically checking Speed and TV Guide simultaneously to try and catch the end of the race.

LOL your not alone there!! u watch the beggining of the race....but the next thing u know your waking up like 5 or 6 hours later...thinking oh SH...!!!!

By the way for me it has to be Imola...because while the last few laps were going on. my cuzin who doesnt care for racing...called me and asked if I was watching this good race on TV cuz they were watching it too...they've seen every race after that and enjoyed it!!.....so yea it was IMOLA.

You know, part of what I associate F1 with is being bleary-eyed and pulling myself out of bed on a cold spring morning to watch it. I live in New York City and March/April mornings are still pretty cold. Some of those early races in the season are on very early (or late depending on your prespective) and more often than not I literally crawl from my nice warm bed to the living room to turn the TV on. As soon as I hear Varsha/Hobbs/Matchett (Speed's commentators) I know old friends are back for a new season.

I look forward to March every year!

 that was awsome.
My highlights, imola, fisi winning melbourne and RBR's pit crew at monaco.

 Nice 👍

My highlights would probably be Alonso's move in 130R, Kimi's unlimited bad luck and Sato finally being seen as the poor driver he always was...

I drew this to express some of my feelings about this season. As you can tell, I didn't spend a lot of time with the McLaren drivers, as they're the first two of the LOSERS.

No wonder Alonso's so quick, he's had plenty of time to refine his eyebrow technique, whilst driving Lady Penelope about:

Cool pic though 👍

My personal highlight of this season was the battle between Schumacher and Alonso in Imola.

Dude, my wife and I spent about the same, maybe more, for 5 days in Indy (we were there from thursday to monday) so I don't want to hear it. Maybe if it was the first time we had been there (or to a GP) I'd feel differently but I was there for something that will always be part of history. I saw something that people will still talk about 20, 30, 40 years from now in GP circles. I think that is pretty rad.

Ya have any photo of yourself throwing bottles against Schumi? :dopey:

PD: Just joking :)

Imola and Suzuka, obviously. US GP, for the novelty value - squint and it's GT4! Going to my first ever GP at Silverstone, which was great fun despite the race being rubbish. Coulthard proving the value of experience and leading two GPs, if only for a lap each - shame no podium though.

i dont know of any personal highlights but i know maxwell house is sure glad i watch f1. i drink about three big cups every day of race weekends.

Actually I almost got in a fight with the moron behind me throwing stuff onto the track. We sat at turn 1 and this morning was throwing fosters cans onto the track. I actually had to turn around and forcefully take the can out of his hand. Then he gives me crap, acts tough and gets beat down by the guy behind him and escorted away by security.

Frankly anyone who threw anything onto the track that day deserved to be put in jail. One most idiotic things I've ever seen.

Especially if it made contact....

Its still makes me laugh though that in the after-race conference, Schumi said he could smell the beer as he went past.

Of course mate.

Imola and Suzuka were two great races. Everyone forgets the excitement of Monaco though. There were some good charges from the back of the grid too - Montoya was awesome at Hockenheim. The build-up to Indianapolis was an hour of the most rivetting television this year, even though I watched it a week late, and already knew all about what happened. To see it unfolding was incredible. Still, I'm glad I hadn't shelled out for tickets and travel...

I loved the exchange between Jock Clear and Takuma Sato on the latter's quali out-lap in Melbourne:

Jock: Be careful out there, there's lots of water at the back of the circuit.
Takuma (in fence): Ah... Erm... Too late. I have crashed.

What about between Massa’s pit crew and Massa when he was stranded on ‘slicks’:

*VROOM*
Pit: Schumacher will be going past soon, leave him room.

:p
