The aim of this thread it to create an F1 street circuit.
I got the idea for this from the Design an F1 track competition by waggles. But the point of this one is purely street circuits in places officially classed as cities.
You need to name the track and show the track outline, pit lane, start line and direction, Corner Names and grandstands/ maximum capacity. You also need to show its lap length, and (Optional) how many laps you would have to do for a 300 km F1 race.
Distance in Miles and kilometers.
If you want to put in a lap description, be my guest.
There will be a voting system. Every 6 entrys, there will be a vote lasting one day. The points will be allocated like this
1st: 10pts
2nd: 6pts
3rd: 4pts
4th: 3pts
5th: 2pts
6th: 1pts
Example:
Berlin Olympiastadionring
74 laps of a 2.53 mile long circuit.
Blue is the circuit, red the pit lane, turquoise, grandstands, Yellow for corner names and greeny yellow for the start and direction.
Sector 1: It goes down a long straight into a left hander through trees to a flat out chicane. Then after a slightly left turning straight to a sharp left, quickly followed by another. There is a small right let chicane taken flat up towards a right hander that goes through the entrance to the stadium, turn right on to the running track, around the hairpin to go through the sprint finish. End of Sector 1.
Sector 2:: It then turns out of the stadium down a short straight into a chicane, followed by a right hand turn down a straight to a big right hander before a building. A double left hander follows it and drives through the inside of the building. Halfway through is the end of sector 2.
Sector 3: Out of the building is a double right onto a straight to pass the building again before a 90 degree corner to the left. It is then followed by a right onto a long straight at the end is a left right chicane followed by a double left to finish the circuit.
It goes has a big seating arrangement. First off is the huge capacity of the Stadium itself, nearly 10,000 more seats available than the race day attendance of the 2010 German GP, and the slight left straight has a grassy grandstand at the side, that could easily be seated. Owens Ecke is named after Jesse Owens, the most famous participant at the 1936 Olympics. The maximum grandstand capacity for all the tracks stands is 120,000.
